So, the forecast for the Charlotte area is a chanceof rain. Doppler is iffy in wether or not we get anything, near as i can tell.
My weather rick is hot and dry, but it sucks at future predictions.
Do i load up to try and go drag racing tonight????
Its almost guaranteed to be dry if i dont.....
You should go. What's the worst that could happen?

Better to go and get rained out than stay home and wish youd gone.
Yeah you know the weather's going to be perfect if you don't go.
It's nice here. Hot as heck, but nice.
See my dilemma? Picking up the car and getting to the strip is 1.5 hours and about 10 gallons of gas. Then 40 bucks at the gate.....
A bad day racing is better than a good day at work hands down. Go.
The Dilemma has been answered for me. Just walked out of my office and into the rain.
Sunny and damn near 100f today.
Truckis loaded, and i get off work at 3. Track opens at 5....
Hopefully tonight brings a straight and shiny car with a console full of sub 15 second timeslips.
The fortune cookie i just got: nobody ever drowned in his own sweat
I take this as a sign from god!!!
4 passes. I did what i set out to do!

My goal is to see if it was going to be quicker than what it is currently built to safety regulation wise. It's nowhere near it. Definitely will not be the fastest Miata at the challenge history

You should be a politician.....what were the berkleying times ?
On drag slicks? Did you try a 2nd gear launch?
Yes to both. I'm not a great drag racer.
There were a few more passes but they were equally abysmal. I was really expecting a hell of a lot more out of the car. Not disappointed over although as it's still far faster than stock and a hell of a lot of fun to drive.
Have you got power and weight numbers to run through an online calculator? I was able to get within a half second of the calculator time with no previous drag strip experience.

2.238.... Is that the 60’?
That's a respectable launch.
Why is there a second and a half difference between the 2 runs?
Is the left slip your 2nd gear launch? That would go some ways towards explaining the difference.
In reply to DeadSkunk (Warren) :
Unfortunately, just guesstemations. Depending on the gas and the calculator they were saying anything from a 12.9 2 or 13.9.
Svrex: yes those are my 60-foot times. I cannot get this car to launch with my driver ability. The main reason for the huge gap on those two runs is I popped it out of first gear by accident and then we really just pretty much through the run away after that. I for teens at high 80s was as quick as I could get it to go and never could get below it to Second 60 ft
