Apparently a conventional oil change costs $90 now?

In reply to wae :

That's about what we have to pay to have the oil changed in the Colorado at the dealership (which is required to keep the warranty active). I think it's about half that when I change the oil in the Infiniti myself (and a bit more than that when I do the E46, but that's because I get fancier oil for it).

TIL that NIST has finally heard the screams I have sent into the void!  The new draft of their Digital Identity Guidelines uses the phrase "SHALL NOT" when talking about requiring password changes on a regular basis, making passwords have different character types, and doing those goofy security questions.  Turns out that they had to do a crapload of research to determine what I could have told them for free:  Frequently changed passwords with all sorts of special characters in them means that people will use passwords that are easy to guess because they are easier to remember, they will re-use passwords with only minor changes, and/or they will write these passwords down in places that are insecure because they can't remember them.

I was so bummed at my last gig when I saw they were still using 800 which required the standard constant changes

TIL There was a race track in Toronto in Exhibition Stadium called the CNE Speedway that ran in the 50's into the 60's and was reborn again for a season in 1990 after the Blue Jays and Argo's moved into the Skydome.

TIalsoL Richard Petty entered his first NASCAR Cup race not in the US but at a one off CUP series event held at the CNE Speedway in 1958. His father, Lee won the race after spinning him out early on.

During Covid times we got to autocross in LOT 2 at exhibition place for a few years which happens to be over the old infield from that stadium (most of where the stadium was is now BMO field where Toronto FC plays). I knew our courses went through the stadium ground but had no idea there was racing history there, now that I look at the satellite images you can actually still see part of the 1990's flat egg shaped layout going through the old infield which is marked in the lot with concrete "bases".

In many parts of FL, it's impossible to get homeowners insurance. Mostly due to the fact that the state gets battered by multiple hurricanes every year. Insurance companies continue to just up and leave that state.

My Dad raced there, and I'm pretty sure they were racing there in the 80's too. I remember the push to shut it down, and what the mayor of Toronto said at the time.

Auto racing is not the kind of activity we think is appropriate for the city of Toronto.
