Get a shop vac. Use the suction function. Place the hose in the toilet bowl. Get a big towel. Then, wet the towel down in the bathtub or shower. Place the towel in a circular manner around the hose to provide a seal. Turn on shop vac. Wait until you hear the thunk sound.
Then remove everything from the bowl and flush the toilet.
If it doesn't drain as quickly as it normally would the first time you ever flushed it... repeat the above steps until it does.
here is my issue with your method:
how long has it been doing this and how much poop is caught on whatever is obstructing the flow? i do not want poop on or in my shop vac, i don't care if it can be hosed off and bleached.
kids in the house?... little fuzzy animals or toys

It is no different than using a toilet auger or other device to remove the "obstruction". One way or the other you will be getting E36 M3 on something. Might as well get it over with as quickly and easily as possible.
If you are that concerned about your shop vac, buy a cheap assed one from home depot, sprawl mart, or the internet. Then, only use it for this sort of thing. Or re-sell it as soon as you are done with it. You may even be able to make money on the deal....
