Does yours have many miles on it ? I really like the interior on the Touareg and the idea of getting 28 mpg, but the ones in my price range are over 120k mi and I read a little about timing tensioner failures, as well as the dpf system clogging up..

80k on mine, friend put 160k on his before selling it. At 160k his needed some mechanical attention that he didn't want to do, hence him selling it. Ours has been pretty solid and is under warranty until 2025 or 125k miles for the powertrain, so we're going to keep it until at least we hit that.

My Touareg TDI is just under 120k now. I brought it in for an 'EGR cooler bypass valve' issue under warranty a couple months ago. I'll be bringing it back soon for the same thing. The warranty is still good for quite a while, but I may need to pick another dealership for quality service. I'll probably pick up a newer tow pig/road trip vehicle in a couple years and reassign the Touareg as local 'work truck'.
