So some muslims were pissed that someone called them violent murderers, and the solution was to commit violent murder?

Where did this picture come from? I swear I know the guy between the mustache and the helmet.
Brother of an ex-girlfriend and he was in the Airforce then.
It's stuff like the "carpet bomb them" idiocy that makes me wish there wasn't the occasional nugget of goodness in off-topic. My life would be improved if I stayed out.

Was Blackwater. Xe now. The picture is in Blackwater uniform.
Edit: Apparently Academi now.

So the Libyan ambassador doesn't matter at all?
carguy123 wrote:93EXCivic wrote: Stupidest thread I have read on GRM.So the Libyan ambassador doesn't matter at all?
Of course he does. But is carpet bombing the whole area the only appropriate response?
My question is where the hell were the Marines that are supposed to be guarding our property overseas, and what rules of engagement were they working under? Nobody should be able to scale the walls of an American embassy without getting a .556 through the noggin.
93EXCivic wrote: Stupidest thread I have read on GRM. </blockquote Plus another. Nobody's happy about it and we all assumed it was Obama's fault. Why state the obvious?

Tom, the biggest problem, and this is from talking with people who have trained police, border security, and army personal in multiple Arab countries, is that the good guys are usually intellectual, quite timid, and moderate Muslims. It is very difficult for them to raise arms against their brothers.
Accountability issue.......until caught, the blame is on the Lybian Gov't. They should be pressed extremely hard to find the individuals who thought invading sovereign US soil to murder Americans was a good berkeleying idea......IDGAF if some retards made a movie that pissed you off.
As far as Egypt is concerned, still needs delt with, who agrees that the Egyptian embassy be forced to fly an american flag for a day?

This was my thoughts exactly......we must be stretched really thin if they aren't guarding our embassies.
I have no doubt that the movie in question is a racist pile of half-truths, but I'll still defend the filmmaker's right to make it. I think that's the fundemental difference between Western society and many in the Muslim world who want to keep things in the middle ages. Free speech is such a foreign concept to them, I don't see how we ever find the common ground necessary to acheive peace. Not to mention things like women's rights, etc.

According to reports I've seen now the Marines are being dispatched. Probably way too early to say whether the fault here is with the administration, state department or intelligence services (or the bureaucratic coincidence of all the above), but seems like this was in the wind for some time. I would think on the anniversary of 9/11 and with Bin Laden still "recently dead" precautions would be taken.
BTW, for the record, I'm not an indiscriminate carpet bombing advocate. Just pointing out that WW I started over what some might consider a similar incident, so this is a "big deal". Sorry some are bored with the topic.

Nah he was never on American Idol or Dancing with the Stars.

I agree about the carpet bombing...
But not as stupid as people in Levis organizing via Facebook to denounce America and burn our flag.
