He is....Great fabricator, not much people skills. Besides you will rarely if ever see him there there as he is not an operational partner anymore. He only has money ties to them. In fact I actually haven't seen Jesse around much at all in the last year or so.

I don't doubt his fabrication skills, but man he can use some chill pills.

I had interviewed to work at Austin Speed Shop. Second interview was after Jesse bought in. The guys I spoke to all said they were considering quitting before the inevitable. Even one of the office guys suggested I wait on getting hired to see how things go. From what I understand, Jesse is now just a financial partner, no operations.

You guys have hit the big ones I was thinking of. Head up toward Anderson Mill/Jollyville area and go to Mercury Charlie's. He's the genius behind most of Billy Gibbons' stuff including Cadzilla. When I was down in October, Cadzilla was in the shop.

6th street. Do west 6th. East sixth is the young, barfy, passed out on the curb end. West 6th (from StarBar west) is the good stuff. Plenty young, but not full of vomit. 4th and 5th street between Guadalupe and Colorado also have some really nice upscale nightspots. Halcyon is a neat coffee shop by day, light bar by night. Pecan street bar is nice.

If you head over to Rainey street, there is a really neat section of town where the zoning laws got funky and some people turned houses into bars. Its a regular residential street, but some houses are bars. Look for Clive Bar, Icenhauer's beergarten, White House bar, Bar 96.

East Austin looks sketchy, but its super awesome. Check out some of the bars on East 6th like Shangri-la and Whislers.

Restaurants: Definitely Salt Lick. Legendary. Go to the original, not the one in Round Rock. Other great BBQ can be found at Rudys. Closest one to downtown is up 183 toward Jollyville. Kenichi sushi is super wonderful fusion/sushi. J Blacks on west 6th has great bar food. I ate there frequently because I worked next door at Annies west (now a brewpub). For a nice steak sit-down, do a Saltgrass. Local subs and soups, Thundercloud. You really should hit up Freddie's Place and get a Velveeta Burger and a Crutch. (jack and coke)

Mt Bonnel, Zilker park and Barton Springs (take the mini museum tour. Takes 5 minutes, but its neat), and you really need to see the bats flying out from the Congress Bridge.

Short drives, Greune (pronounced green) and Luckenbach/Fredericksburg. You'll think you've been transported to a honky-tonk in Bavaria. Great town. Really short drive to Lake Travis and the Oasis resort.
