I got it from my Dad 5 years ago. The electrical system is a pain and aftermarket is small. But still love the car. I'm turning it into my first autocross car.
welcome aboard .. you'll see some a$$hatery occasionally (usually taken care of pretty quickly)… but for the most part this can easily be the best forum you'll ever find
Yes, we do not take kindly to political talk in these here parts.
That said, I have found exactly two forums that are perfect in every way. GRM and small craft Advisor. Both are inhabited by cheap asses who would rather work on or build their own vehicle and know what really works and what is just a load of really hot air blown up somebody's ass
And have fun learning the censor words
This is not the Internet waste-land of typical forums but rather this is an extension of a business. We have all learned to respect the business and I personally am often amazed how much the business respects us.
As an example when was the last time your other forms shared to you the following level of "personal". Or, when was the last time that your other mags shared the same.
To us, though the event is unfortunate, the "share" is not so unusual.

If you would like to "meet" the people who make the mag/forum dip into the podcasts:

The proper form of "thank yous" here are...
To the other forum members: Be kind, tactful and honest.
To the business: Buy a subscription
You have done well coming in here. We welcome you and hope you will stay.
PS: I am just another forum member who bought my first GRM in 1993-ish because it had a "build story" about autocross set-up for a Miata (which I had recently bought and knew nothing of autox.) I followed the "recipe" for setup given in the mag and autox'ed it for years.
Around '00 I had a MR2 SC and by then the forum was around to help with setting it up for autox.
I guess I just stayed.
Here is an incredible thread from the past.
What do you do?
Read through this thread and be amazed by who you are talking to.
i second that, as one who is not the most confident, i have received valuable advice here for everything from travel, food, cars, you name it somebody is always willing to help, it takes alot to make me laugh but some of the E36 M3 on here people should be getting paid for, my wife just planned our week long vacation from Alabama to the Oregon coast based on recomendations from members. so my friends i thank you

Nice!
I am fighting the urge to buy one right now.
I've always wanted one, and there is a perfect one available locally at an excellent price.
My wife said if I bought another car I'd have to choose between her and the car. I think I'd miss her, but still deciding.
Some others and I have been on here a long time(over 10 years). It's a good place. I started posting when I was in college, Now I have no fun cars 2.5 kids and gut.
Crap. It HAS been 10 years.
It's like seeing little kids all grown up, and realizing you are getting old.
"I remember when Caffiene was Ignorant, and didn't have a gut". Now get the heck off my lawn!!
What's half a kid??
Hmm... I just had my four year anniversary the other day, come to think of it. I'm assuming the half a kid isn't born yet. ;)
Glad you feel welcome, silverbrick.

My wife said I can have three a daily driver and two projects. Which is fine since Im not near the limit yet. And once I am I may try to persuade her for a fourth car lol
This is easily the best automotive forum in the interwebs without a doubt!!
Welcome and post pics of the brick, there is more of a following here for them then you would ever think!

Ive noticed that and its been a pleasant surprise! I like them a lot and I will probably always run a brick in the rwd class.
Although once Ive done it awhile and money is better I will probably find a brick sedan or 2 door with a stick shift (current brick is a automatic)and just let this one become my show car.
Ive told my wife that her Honda Fit sport with Vtec would probably be great in the fwd class. Ive not convinced her yet lol. Although I probably wont autocross something that still has payments anyway.
When ever I do enter the fwd class Ide probably get a 5th gen Accord (love that body style). If I did awd Ide go Subaru of course lol.
Umm man its gonna be hard to stay in the 3 car limit (doesnt count her car) my wife gave me lol
I will say back when i 1st started autocrossing i was in the philly region and happened to go to an event at the philly stadium complex and there was a red "fitarri" in GS back when you could run slicks.
When you watched him run you knew it was fast as hell but after I finally got the results (had to leave early because the stupid ex wife locked herself out of the house, really pissed me off because I apparently had a podium in DS...) and understood he had a top 10 FTD I looked at everything differently.
This place does a very good job of influencing every aspect of your life. Fortunately by the time you let it you believe it's all a good influence.
I think it's the best place on the internet and I'm glad to have you aboard.
