Whoa picking up major ascent speed again.
I wonder if he broke mach 1? At that altitude it should have been but they have not officially said yet.
I couldn't believe just how fast he fell away from the capsule. It was like he disappeared.
What's Austrian and goes clank clank clank walking down the hall??
Felix Baumgartner.
At -18c the speed of sound in air is 320m/s and I saw that he exceeded it at a point where the temp should be well below that.
Very cool and I'm glad it wasn't me doing it.
There's no way my suit would still be white when I landed.
Very cool, had a family event and missed it live, but the watched it once I got home.
I'm impressed he walked the landing.
That was impressive. Scared me dang near to death when he started tumbling, but he got it straightened out. And yeah, that landing was beautiful. Can't wait to see the data, I hope he broke Mach!
Press conference has started on the same stream.
Edit: Wait, is it over? Maybe I caught the very end of it.
I wish I could have seen it. Work had Fox News on.. and they were following it all during the news.. but as soon as the talking heads came on.. they promptly forgot about it...
Mach 1.24 was peak speed, accoring to the organizers- http://www.redbullstratos.com/live/
Pretty quick.
Roughly 730 mph. Can you imagine going that fast powered soley on gravity and nothing around you? Amazing.
