So I'm France for work for 3 weeks. One of my coworkers finds out I'm staying alone in a hotel and asks me to come to his house for the weekend. So I say OK...
What did we end up doing.
Driving around Normandy in a 1963 Corvair Vert.. His cousin loves american stuff, so he has an old diplomats car..
Then we happened upon a small old car show in a small town along the Seine River.
I promise I will get some pictures up soon..
so , you went all the way to france to get a ride in a corvair? im sure there were easier ways.... 
actually, it sounds like a blast, looking forward to pics!

i was in upper normandie and not in lower normandie. I wasn't about the trod upon the gracouiousness of my hosts to demand they drive all over the place for me.. They probably would have though.. Super nice folks.

Hell I saw another 4 door diesel ranger... Ohh man If they had them in the states, I would have a baby just to sell it then purchase said truck..

Just tell her it's LeMans. Really. I totally understand wife things and keeping her happy, but it's LeMans. If you can, you should in this case. It may be a once in a lifetime opportunity.
c'mom..get creative..you were out all night before your flight looking for the perfect gift for her, got in real late, overslept, missed your flight, and the next available flight you can get is in a week.
oh yeah...make sure you get her a very nice gift....and make sure it's not LeMans related ...
She'd probably understand if you said "But it's LE MANS!!"
She knows you're a gearhead and would probably be cool. I'd at least ask.
