who's the blame the most for the outcome in this scenario: the guy that put the ammo in there, or the woman that didn't check to make sure there wasn't anything in the oven before turning it on?
or am i the only person that ever checks to make sure the oven is empty before turning it on?

My mom has an insane desire to put crap in the oven. I haven't lived at home in over 5 years, but I still check everytime.

Having grown up in a house that was about 10 feet above mean low water.. it was standard operating proceedure to store bread and cereal in the oven where the pilot light would keep it from getting stale and moldy.
New ovens do not have pilot lights.. but I still check
I'm guessing that she was hurt because the magazine contained some of the gasses (like a mediocre chamber). IF you trust the mythbusters test "Without a gun barrel to contain and direct the propellant gases, the bullets did not develop enough speed to pierce the glass or steel portions of the oven. The shell casings actually caused more damage than the bullets."
