Timer went out on public building's bathroom light while I'm in the stall. Not a lot of good places to set the phone as a flashlight, not in the position to go opening the door and wandering around to hit the motion detector.
Back to Marketplace I guess...

We had a motion detector in our bathroom when I was a kid. This was a bathroom used only by the 3 boys. I think at the time it was installed, we were around 10, 13, and 15.
You never realize how still you stand when you're taking a leak until the lights go out. Remember when you were 15 and you could pee for like 2 minutes straight? Yeah, lights went out a lot. Peeing in the dark isn't a great idea. Mom made us clean the bathroom 3x a week at that point.
It's best to approach these situations like the US Marines. Go in, hit the objective hard, and get out.

Leaving a savage, dirty, chaotic mess behind in your wake?
Swing the stall door. That movement should trigger the motion detection
That used to happen to me in the shower at work

If that's what it takes to achieve your objective.
Watch for rats. During the blackout in 2003 I had to use a crew room in a subway station. After the long dark walk down I was minding my own business when what I assume to be a rat became entangled in my shorts. Zero stars, would not recommend.

Just listen for the noise? Not that hard.
We have motion lights in the showers because I didn't feel like cutting tile to run wires and they were both insanely too dark without lights. They make trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night much easier.
It seems like every building I have worked at on military installations has motion activated bathroom lights. It's kinda discomforting when you're doing your business and then suddenly you are in total darkness.
One place I worked installed those motion detector switches in every office. Sitting at a desk working isn't enough motion to keep the lights on.
I looked up the switch on the internet, found the programming instructions, and reset it to never go off. This involved resetting some dip switches exposed by removing the cover plate.

This will make sense to those who have raced in CA, especially before they fixed this issue.

And locations of said objectives are rarely, if ever, a clean surface when walking in (hence the objective).
A flashlight that you can hold in your mouth between your teeth is worth it's weight in gold in situations like this.
Apparently, there's not enough movement in your movement.
