Well, today I gave my 2 weeks

Well, one week notice. Heading to a different job in the same industry (auto parts) moving from Hyundai to Honda. I cant wait for the move. just thought I would share!

Are they making you work the full two weeks?

When I worked in a place that shall forever be known as the gulag, the policy was to escort workers off the site the same day when they resigned. Mostly because they were worried about sabotage/vandalism/retribution/revenge/I don't give a E36 M3 work performance. Since I am known as an outstandingly honest and conscious worker they made me work nearly the whole 2 weeks.

I had plans for those 2 weeks.

...the high cost of integrity.

But, I am very nervous about this new job because there are things I love at my current job and things I hate, hence why I am leaving, and I understand that it will be like that no matter where you go, but how much can one man take??? I feel guilty about leaving as I am personal friends with the manager, but I also feel that is part of my decision on leaving

Tjbell, my qualifier for a job is economic standing.

The more money (or benefits, or time off) you have the further ahead you are, and additionally gives you the ability to have more options for where you want to go in life.

While atmosphere and work conditions are important at a job, if you dont see yourself staying there the rest of your life, you've made the right decision.

The pay is a large part of it ~28% pay increase... cant argue that, and I hope that the new dealer is going to be my "home" job, I have jumped around a lot in the past, but nearly doubling my salary in a year and a half in the parts business I think I am doing alright!
