My dad, who will be 70 in a few weeks, was diagnosed with liver cancer in January. Because of his lifestyle, just cutting out the bad part wasn't an option and he had to have to multiple surgeries on back-to-back days.
Just had an MRI on Monday, the liver cancer is still gone and nothing has spread. And the honery old cuss is still out playing in bands and such.
Glad to hear that! Getting a cancer diagnosis is a scary thing so I am sure your family went through a lot. I am happy to hear he is doing well.

Great news, thanks for sharing. Hope he keeps fighting through
That's a difficult primary to take on. I'll raise my glass to him and his medical professionals for taking it head on.

To continue the good news train, my aunt was just diagnosed free of cancer for the third time in her life. Lung, lung, and this time was esophageal.
She's an ornery old bird when it comes to cancer, pretty nice to be around the rest of the time.
That's AWESOME. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks everyone. He's definitely had some bad medical news over the last 15 years or so, but he just seems to find a way to keep on keeping on.

That's also great news! Glad to hear it.

Yeah, he's like a cockroach. About 10 years ago had a carcinoid tumor in his appendix and they ended up removing about a foot of his large intestine, had his gall bladder removed, has had both shoulders, rebuilt, had a scare with a benign tumor in his lung, etc.
He might outlive me!

But if you average in all the new parts, he will also be younger than you.
In reply to z31maniac :
He's a proper sort of stubborn. If the bone mass in the scapula was compromised requiring the shoulders to be rebuilt, I feel his pain and salute him. That's the most painful daily reminder. Every else life change becomes routine, the shoulder's becoming compromised and repaired though, it changes angles, function, pain level, ability and you never know how much they're going to have to give at any given time. You can't account for there ability for project what it's going to be at any given time, which is frustrating.

He most certainly is. I don't think it was the bones in his scapula, but him working in a warehouse for a few decades and also playing in bands having to haul heavy equpiment around, he ended up ripping apart the tendons/ligaments in both shoulders in a 2 year span in his late 50s.
Fan.damn.tastic to hear!! Sounds like he's a fighter.
