Cal Smith - An Hour and a Six-Pack
The late, Great, Eva Cassidy ... Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Arguably, the best rendition of this epic song.
... and "La Vie en Rose," also Madeleine Peyroux
Wife and I are prepping for our trip to Paris in early May. Terrorists be damned.
... and Francoise Hardy: Tous les garcons et les filles
For trivia folks, Francoise Hardy was a famous French folk singer in the sixties, and also played the role of Nino Barlini's very hot girlfriend in the movie Grand Prix. The role spawned one of the best movie break-up lines ever when Nino told her "Yes, I think you should go to Greece with your new American boyfriend. I think you should go to hell!" in appropriate Italian-accented English.
I listened to XM/Sirius Radio … bluegrass and old time country all the way from Daytona to Asheville … 8 1/2 hrs
Been listening to a carnival playlist on Youtube. Missing New Orleans right now :(

AWOLNATION - Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf), the only single out from their upcoming album.
SWMBO and I heard it while listening to iTunes Radio's Top 500 Alternative songs and both immediately snagged it (she needed the censored version to use for her dance classes while I grabbed the original explicit version). The 'breakdown'/rap portion is what hooked both of us- reminds me a lot of the similar part of Savage Garden's 'I Want You' (and I'm hoping somebody who's good at that kind of thing will make a mashup of the two...).
The Decemberists - Make You Better
When i bought the new Decemberists album amazon notified me that the new Modest Mouse album comes out next month. Can't wait.
Dave Brubeck - Time Further Out. Wonderful. Love the liner notes. I love how at the end of Unsquare Dance, a piece in 7/4, you can hear Joe Morello laugh in relief of having gotten to the end successfully. That was in the liner notes.

Love Eva Cassidy. Take way too soon. Love her versions of Wayfaring Stranger and Take Me to the River.
There are a lot of interesting covers of Somewhere over the Rainbow: Israel Ka..something something(that Hawaiian uekulele player), Harry Nilson. My favorite is K.J. Denhert's. Surprises me in several places.
King crimson (Fripp/Belew version) Dsicipline
Always loved this song, but the old school machinery in the video suits the music perfectly. Screw machine? Loom?
