Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson: Homeboy
Classic Chicago Blues. This is a great one with Etta James.

Huey Lewis and the News: Stuck With You

You know it's a good video when the song doesn't start until 1:30 in.
Sergio Franchi: Torna 'a Surriento
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yQJEqr-ICVM
Sergio was at his peak in the sixties. He was an Italian singer and preferred to live in the US. He was a regular on the Merv Griffin show back in those days. He loved Italian sports cars and could afford to own the best. He bought an estate in southeastern Connecticut near Stonington and lived out his life there with his cars. After his death from the Big C in 1990, his wife held a car show every year in his honor for a number of years. Now there's an opera festival at his estate annually. Cool.
Joe Cocker: You Are So Beautiful
From a concert in Berlin in the eighties:

And more recently, in 2007:

One of my Joe Cocker favorites.
Aretha Franklin: R E S P E C T
But you have to see this children's dance recital to the song embedded in the attached link ... sassitude attitude!

Leonard Cohen: Everybody Knows
Leonard Cohen ... what can I say. Probably one of the top ten all time favorites of mine in over fifty years of music awareness. (Don't ask me to name those top ten because I'll come up with about fifty). But in any case I love this guy. One of my many regrets in life is that I never saw him perform live. I have many Leonard Cohen favorites, but this is the song I'm listening to at the moment:

(The lyrics remind me of the corrupt Rhode Island politics we've been enduring for decades).
Just to really shake that up...

Leonard Cohen (again): Dance Me To the End of Love
Another Leonard Cohen favorite of mine, as well as Annie's favorite (see above).

Leonard is a gem from the GWN, well into his eighties now and not performing much anymore.
Leonard Cohen: Hallelujah
Another Leonard Cohen favorite of mine (see above).
Covered very aptly by Rufus Wainwright (the Shrek movie), KD Lang, and others, Leonard Cohen wrote this song and sang it at the O2 Arena in London a few years ago. In my opinion, this is the best performance of this song, performed by the master himself:

I went to a show last night, and Mariachi El Bronx was the first act. I was skeptical, but they were pretty solid.

Gogol Bordello and Flogging Molly both put on amazing sets.
