Karl, My Man, I love the American classics, and that includes Southern Rock. It's just a different era. One of my favorites is Highway Song by Blackfoot. Some people from Blackfoot have ties to Skynyrd.
Like Chevelles? I prefer a '69 SS 396, metallic blue.
(Caution to those who might be offended ... this music video has Stars and Bars content. Jeez, what the hell is this effen country coming to?). But this is excellent music and guitar work to be appreciated by all:

And here's the original band in Zurich, 1982, sans Chevelles:

So consider that performance in Zurich in 1982. Certainly not Glenn Miller, or Sinatra, or Motown. But definitely great original classic American music. That's what I'm talking about. I love all of it!

John Depetro on local Rhode Island WPRO talk radio, 9:00am to noon weekdays. My usual daily routine while working on my Spitfire in the garage. Today's topic: Donald Trump and how he relates to local issues. (RI is a "sanctuary state").

I really like John. He's a local RI guy, intellectual, knowledgeable on the issues, not afraid to take a stand and be very un-PC, and fills in occasionally for Michael Savage on the national level.

I've been on an early Steve Winwood kick lately: The Spencer Davis Group, Traffic, Blind Faith but none of his later solo stuff. It all started when I read an article in a mountain bike magazine that mentioned The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, a song that I never even really liked. But, that guy was a true prodigy when he was young.

(Remember the ill-fated street race in the early morning hours at the end of the movie American Graffiti?)
Read the footnotes to the YouTube link to learn more about Booker T. Jones and the MG's. Great vintage American R&B band.

I probably posted this before. But as the thread title says, "what are you listening to right now?" This is it.

Been listening to stuff from high school. Blink 182, less than jake, streetlight manifesto, reel big fish. Brings back good memories
I almost exclusively listen to Vocaloid based music now. Currently on the deeper end of the Vocaloid pool and just listened to these two (which have awesome musicality...have no idea on the lyrical content though...LOL):

Butterscotch
Decided to look into what had become of a very talented young lady I did vocal jazz with back in college. I knew she'd become a Women's World Beat-Boxing Champion and had been on America's Got Talent. Here's one of her latest tracks I've really been enjoying.
"Cherish the Day" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hx41GNYifq0
"Summertime" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hx41GNYifq0
She's most impressive live. She simultaneously sings, beat-boxes, and plays either guitar or piano.

Candy Dulfer: Lily Was Here
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Nthf9n9IGPk
Candy is a great, great jazz alto sax player. A spectacular performer. I first saw her on the "Friday" late night TV show back in the early eighties (where I first saw Michael Richards, who was a regular cast member). I love this particular song performed at a concert somewhere in Deutchland at some point in time probably not too long ago. She has aged well. A sexy lady playing sexy jazz music. So much better than synthetic music.
The guitar player was pretty good too. But I doubt anyone took notice of that hapless dude!
