Listening to Zac Brown Band's new "Jekyll + Hyde" album. It's deliberately genre-busting. I've listened to it twice so far, and I still don't know what I think yet.

Hey wow, it's "a guy with a guitar and a webcam" and it doesn't suck.
In reply to Knurled:
I agree. And I Iike that he's doing all the tracks himself. Very talented guy, and entertaining.
Thanks, I don't think I ever would have known about this without this thread. (Like Karl LaFollette posting "Unknown Hinson," and Toyman posting the Brooklyn Rhythm & Blues Project. All good stuff I would never have heard without this thread).
When I first heard this, I was a teenager sitting in my car at work waiting for the manager to show up and open. It was on a college station and the show host had some thick Yooper accent, and he stopped after the first 5-6 seconds and said in his over-enunciating too much Ls way "His laughing sounds kind of like a dog. Let's hear that again"
Laughed my ass off.
Song still rules.
Leonard Cohen: Dance Me to the End of love:

Rather old performance, maybe 20 years. But still very good.
My Man, Young Tony (Tony Desare) playing to a small audience somewhere in NYC. Tony is great.

If you like Tony as I do, look for him playing locally in your area.

Actually, he's playing in Cincinnati at The Music Hall on New Years's Eve. Our son is on temporary work assignment in Cincinnati so I think it's highly likely we'll be there for Tony's performance.
Sharon Robinson: Back on Boogie Street:

She's part of Leonard Cohen's backup band, but a great performer in her own right.
A whole bunch of pre-Brothers Black Keys. Before that album, they were totally awesome. Brothers was pretty OK; since then, they've totally sucked. And I freely admit I never heard of them until "Tighten Up" hit the air, so I'm not going all hipster.

arch enemy, still think i prefer the sound from when angela fronted the band but this isnt bad!
OK friends, it's Friday night and I think we should lighten things up. I spent the past few days on Martha's Vineyard a.k.a. La-La land, so this is appropriate:

John Gorka: Love is Our Cross to Bear
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9WGXvXxJM8I
I'm a big John Gorka fan. I've seen him perform live at 41 Bridge Street in Collinsville, CT http://www.41bridgestreet.com/ Great.
On this one he's accompanied by Antje Duvekot, a great female vocalist. I've seen her perform live at the Vanilla Bean Cafe in Pomfret, CT. She has a perfect voice.

Beautiful, talented woman, beautiful voice, perfect pitch. I saw her perform at the Vanilla Bean Cafe in Pomfret, CT. She was great.

This is Antje singing John Gorka's classic song at a small, intimate venue in Peacedale, RI, a few years ago.

Beautiful late summer Saturday evening at Casa Fairview. Annie, comfortable temp, clear sky, quarter moon, stars, roaring blaze in the fire pit, bottle of Bordeaux (two bottles of Bordeaux, actually), katydids and crickets chirping, and great jazz on the Bluetooth speaker, courtesy Pandora.
Tony DeSare: How I Will Say I Love You

Annie loves this. Every woman would. It's the world's greatest love song. Ever. (Want to get lucky tonight? Play this to her). I'm a fan of who I call "Young Tony", the new purveyor of the old standards. The new Sinatra. Arguably better. Hopefully others will appreciate his music. Listen.
Young Tony again: All of Me
(I think I've posted this before, but it's worth doing again).

This, I think, is my favorite Young Tony song. But I like a lot of his work.
(Maybe not the same genre as Unknown Hinson, but thanks to forum friend Karl LaFollette, I'm now a big fan of Unknown too!
Great shares, this is still one of my favorite threads.
Here's is mine for the moment, Dangerous by Big Data. The bass line is sick (in a good way), the video is too (in a NSFW way). Just close your eyes, it's a good jam.
