Like fine wine (and other female vocalists), her voice has improved with age. She was a founding member of "Throwing Muses" here in Rhode Island back in the eighties. I saw her and the band perform in local clubs in Newport and Providence a few times when she was a kid, but didn't fully appreciate the band's music at the time. But I appreciate her now that her voice has matured. Thanks for the post!

Yeah, once Tanya got out from her half-sister Kristen Hirsch's thumb, she definitely came into her own. I don't mind Throwing Muses but you can tell that Kristen was determined to remain a "real" artistic type even if it meant writing purposely-difficult stuff. Tanya is much more about message and melody, not just about maintaining some pretentious anti-commercialist idea of what "real" music is.
I just popped in Muse's new album Drones on the way home last night from work and started listening to it.
Avantasia - Ghostlight
I'm on an obscure-ish European Symphonic Metal trip. Not that that's unusual.
The Heavy - Short Change Hero I love these guys. How you like me now?
