Time for some new work wear, be going back to the trades real soon. Uniforms are out, I love my coveralls. Non-insulated, no bibs, no duck, long sleeve poly/ cotton twill in navy is how I roll.
Been wearing the Wearguard twill by Aramark unifrom service for over 20 years, I love 'em but mail order only, I will order a pair to check sizing, over $55 for my size tho.
Schmidt from TSC, good quality, heavy fabric.. but last pair went from pant legs dragging the floor to highwaters and tight after just two washes. I'd have to order long and next size up, wash to account for expected shrinkage, I consider a good deal at around $41.
Berne, Dickies, Walls, had 'em all. Can't find my size stocked locally to even test fit. Decent IMO but I thought Wearguard and Schmidt much better.
Carhart... just too expensive
Military surplus, owned a bunch, good for the home shop but not the plant floor.
Found Red Kap in search, I know nothing about them.
So, what am I missing, what's your idears and recommendations? GRM is the place to ask. I will be buying 5-6 pairs of the right coveralls when I find the right set for me.
TIA
If the covies are anything like their pants, Red-Kaps are tough as nails.

RedKap is it. That's what uniform rental houses rent out.
My fave shopping site is AutomotiveWorkwear.com
They have coveralls in plain or various mfr's liveries

what's wrong with $15 Wrangler jeans and a $10 3 pack of Fruit of the Loom pocket T shirts for work clothes?
this is what i wear all day, every day- whether i'm just hanging out in the living room watching the newly resurrected Beavis and Butthead, out in the garage working on a car, ot sitting at work and playing on the internet while the cnc mill does all the real work..

Wow. I'm so glad I saw this. I was gifted coveralls a few years ago for christmas but they didn't fit. I was given a raincheck that I never cashed in. These are much cheaper than the ones I was gifted, too.
I have a horrible habit of ruining perfectly good clothing with grease. Would be nice to be able to just throw on some coveralls.
Are they sized to be comfortable over regular street clothes? t-shirt and jeans for example
I've got a lightweight pair of uniform-house covies that i kept from the last job, but I have yet to put them into garage service although that was my reason for keeping them. I also have a carhartt insulated set (brown duck, red quilt lined) that are THE goto wear when trying to get something done in cold, inclement weather. they are the warmest thing I own and freakin indestructible.
Ya know several years ago I saw used, reconditioned lightweight covies packed for sale in a Pep Boys. They were kind of yardsale quality, but were less than $5 a pair. I've kept an eye out but never seen them again

nothing wrong w/ jeans and tees just can't carry enough w/ them.

I like coveralls a little baggy for comfort, they will fit over street clothes if you size them right. I keep a spare set of coveralls in the truck to save my street clothes JIC I have to roll under the truck. Disposable painters coveralls will work for that too, and they're a lot cheaper.
