Our GE has held up really well over more than a decade. We sprung for the higher end one (red label? red tag? something like that)

So far the only issue has been that the built in water dispenser will freeze up occasionally, have to use a hair dryer to thaw it out. Irritating, but the fix is $0 and it's probably happened 3x in twelve years.

I've had very good luck with Kitchen Aid appliances. Not as good as the premium stuff, but better than the Maytags of the world. My Kitchen Aid refrigerator is about 22 years old without a lick of trouble.
