Boy can I relate. When we go out there she rides my GT Palomar that dates back to my MIDDLE SCHOOL days. Shes happy on the green trails but boy was I in trouble the time I talked her into riding North Creek....

The Forge actually sounds pretty decent component wise as long as the frame isn't made from upcycled girders, but at 5'5", there's a good chance a 17" frame is too big. Keep your receipt.

This was back when we had to park at the north end of the park where the horse trailers park. The first trail we ran into was roller coaster. It was worse than you think.

Find her the right(light) bike. You'll enjoy it more if she enjoys it

Bought the target bike, $250 out the door with tax tag and title. If it's too big / too heavy I'll return it.
