I can't figure out which of you are hipsters - those who go to Whole Foods or those are too cool to go to Whole Foods.
I shop there. They have the best beer selection in town. So sue me.

Went to an Earth Fare one time. It made Whole Foods seem like Aldis as far as the prices went. Only reason I went was because I had a coupon for a free chicken. The caveat was you had to buy at least $10 worth of stuff to get the free chicken. That took two containers of dried cranberries and a small chocolate bar.
I was never a hipster, but if I had been a hipster, I would have stopped being a hipster before it was cool to stop being a hipster. Isn't that ironic?

That's even harder to play in Europe. Unless someone is actively making out with a member of the same sex, you just never know. (No seriously, two guys or two women dancing together at a Queer Tango Festival might both be strait.) Then there are many urban frauleins:
As for Whole Foods: They have the best refrigerated beer selection in Sacramento. Often their beers are cheaper than what can be had at liquor stores or other grocery stores. Guinness is actually reasonably priced.

Really? Whole Paycheck? Are you sure? :)

Yep. I recall them sellin 4 packs of Guinness for something like $2 less than the SaveMart nearby (like $6.50 instead of $8.50). I don't pay too much attention though because they also have cold Old Rasputin which will kick Guinness' ass any day of the week.

Weird blue laws in your state?
Oregon has no restrictions on beer sales in grocery stores. Even the Fred Meyers (Kroger to you non-PNW'ers) have beer selections that make most out of staters jaws drop at first sight.
I also have 5 breweries within walking distance of my house.
I've never even heard of whole foods or trader joes. We do have a great store back home called Jungle Jims. HUGE store with foods from all over the world. Way back in the day I used to work for Pepsi and had to stock the shelves there. Every night I would pull three pallets, thats 88 cases from the very back corner of the store all the way to the very front. Doesn't sound like a big deal but I promise it was close to a quarter of a mile. And that was before his latest additions.

It sounds like a lot. I grew up working my dad's 7up route. It gets heavy fast. I was the only kid in fourth grade that had his own hand truck and knew most spanish obsenities.
Whole foods makes good chicken fingers. I get them and a Peligrino water with orange for lunch now and then

I used to go to Whole Foods because it was the only place I could buy long wheat grass for my cat. I decided that rather than continue to go there, it was just easier to get rid of the cat.
Butt whole foods is good for beer, I used to go to butt whole foods and get some prepared food and a tall fine beer for dinner.
The hipster customer is very funny though. Seriously if you want to get good food and support a business go to a local grocery. Ain't many left, I support my local supermarket everyday. Might be a bit more expensive but a good butcher and meat counter and decent produce counter make up for the slight cost. I think some people get fooled into thinking the cost at a regular market is cheaper, veggies and good fruit are much cheaper on average than at the big chain. Also the meat from big stores is aweful. I ain't into eating meat sitting on a styrofoam tray.

ZOMG, we started the magazine with a Kaypro!! Does that make us hip, or just old?
Don't answer that...
