I've found some websites where you can research wheel specs.  roadkillcustoms, sizemywheels, wheel-size, etc.

Is there one where you can plug in what you're looking for and it might spit out some suggestions of factory wheels that fit?  Roadkill is OK, but not current.  It also just says high, zero, or negative offset.  sizemywheels lets you look up a car.  I'm kind of looking for a reverse lookup.  5x108mm, offset could be anywhere from 30-40mm.  Width could be 7.5-9".

wheel-size.com has that (see "By Rim Size" tab)

Easy button -

Take this list here

https://www.wheel-size.com/pcd/5x108/

Cross out all the cars we don't get in the USA

Google search the cars that have attractive stock wheels (guessing you are looking for stockers)

Then search just the cars with wheels you would tolerate.  Cross off the ones that don't work or wouldnt accomodate spacers.

Other easy options.

Daily ebay search for 5x108 with your desired bolt pattern, diameter, and offset.

You can also get daily updates for all LKQ auctioned wheels from Ebay, sometimes some decent aftermarket stuff shows up there too.

That works, but it's a little clumsy, especially since you can't do a range of widths.  Thanks for the tab find, though.

I've been doing that on FBM, but it returns thousands of possible sizes and offsets that I have to sift through to find one or two that actually fit.

Not stockers, necessarily, but used wheels are so much cheaper.   At least I know if I find some MSWs on a 98 Thunderbird I know they'll fit my Mark, but if I find Jag X350 wheels I like, I would need hella spacers to make them fit.  I'm just not keen on doing a deep dive with flowcharts and spreadsheets if I don't have to.

Most volvo wheels are 5x108 so a search for those should get you mostly results with the right bolt pattern.

I have scoured for Volvo wheels since they are the easy button for bolt pattern and offset, but I don't really like any of the offerings.  Still looking, though.

I did find some banging Taurus vii wheels.  They're 20s, which means I'm limited to summer-only tires that would cost $225 each.

Remember that bolt pattern was called 5X4.25 for many years until we started to accept metric measurements.

It was a rare one in 5 bolt back then though, and still is.

Ferarri wheels would be pretty wicked on a Lincoln.

What diameter, width, and cost are you looking for?

18" would be the sweet spot.  If I shop tires in the 19 and 20 range, it limits me to almost entirely summer-only UHP that cost $250 each, which is pointless on a 4000-lb couch.  17" would be an option if I find something that looks really good.

So... 17-18" with a preference for 18.

8" width would be ideal, but could do 7.5" or 9".  9" gets into some potential fun with hitting suspension bits, so I would have to dig deeper into the research pile before comitting.  Let's say 8"

Chrome or polished preferred.

Most used sets of wheels I'm seeing have ranged from $100/set for something beat up that would need a day of cutting and polishing.  Higher end I'm seeing $300-350 for a set that is 99% flawless and ready to mount.  I would prefer to lean toward the less-prep-needed end of the spectrum.

TL;DR... 18x8, 5x108mm, 35mm offset, or close to it.  $300.

Another thought....

I have some 17x8 et 45mm wheels, but they're 5x4.75"

Possible to get a set of adapters that are only about 10mm thick?

Edit... nevermind.  I'm only finding them to adapt to 4.5" and they cost nearly as much as a set of used wheels.

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/195333850166731/?ref=saved&referral_code=null, but this guy doesn't even list a size.

The rest are all either 20" or higher, and not local.  That's all I've found so far.

What are your goals?  If you want it to look cool, stock wheels off a Volvo will not make that happen.   If you just need something round that holds a tire off the hub, then the Volvo wheels might be OK if the center bore will fit.

I wouldnt sweat local vs no as long as the shipping price isnt brutal.

...not polished, but look good enough (of course that is subjective).

Should fit, may need some +5mm spacers which would still let you use stock lugs and nuts.

It would probably be better to convert to Mustang Cobra hubs to get the more common bolt pattern.

There's a lot of cost on that. I've done it in the past on my SC and I'm doing it now (ish) on my Mark VIII.

OP, I think most of the factory offerings in 5x108 are probably going to be limited to 7" wide. I'm sure there will be exceptions, but from my experience 8" wide is rare, and a factory 18x9 in 5x108 just doesn't exist. Or at least it didn't when I last looked. There just wasn't a desire/market for that much rubber on a Taurus/Sable, Volvo, T-Bird/Cougar, LS, etc. Maybe that's changed with the Focus ST, but I don't know.

I got good 5x108 wheels from Tire Rack and Discount Tire back when my cars had that bolt circle, too. But even there 8" and definitely 9" widths will be limited.

My goal is appearance.  The factory octastars (also called Oysters in the Mark viii world, evidently) I find to be hideously ugly.  I detest them to my core.  They are also from that 90s era where luxury cars had gaudy wheels wrapped in balloon rubber where the cross section of the tire is seemingly twice the tread width.

I am not going for any performance, handling, acceleration, or anything else, just getting rid of the ugly wheels and the ridiculously tall sidewalls.

I looked into it.  Pricier than you think.  For the cost to change to the 5x4.5 pattern, I can get a pretty sweet set of chromies.
