So, I'm selling some stuff on eBay right now. haven't listed anything on there in a while. Most of the items I have listed I have sold before. The difference is now, I'm only getting 10 or less views, whereas I used to get at least 10 watchers and lots of views before. Since I know these items sold in the past very well, it makes me think folks aren't using eBay much anymore. So, if you were looking for, say a used LS1 ECM, an older set of nice bookshelf speakers, or something else random where would you look?
I've never sold anything on Amazon before. How does it compare?

Not for cars at least out here on the west coast.
There must be a 90% reduction in the number of cars listed on Craigslist in the last month or so.

Huh? My admittedly limited saved searches seem to be turning up roughly similar, or at least not crazily anomalous, quantities of cheap malaise-mobiles, LBCs, Miatas, and 5-series BMWs... It's a small cross-section, granted...
To the OP, I don't know. Ebay seems to have become a clearinghouse for knockoffs and cross-posted items.
I may be one of those people who's all but given up looking for used parts unless I really need them, or can get them from a local salvage yard, pre-checking they have it via their site. Maybe when my projects are more active, I'll become more active as well...

Up north most of the stuff is on Kijiji. Way more popular here than Craigslist.
I used to troll Ebay often for car parts.
Now I look on Craigslist or the appropriate model-specific car forum.

I buy in the high dollar range and there is NOTHING out here around here. The usual low dollar stuff even seems light on the ground.

I agree!! As a matter of fact. I know people who have no idea what the hell Craigslist is..
Seriously though.. Craigslist really sucks compared to some of the other options.

Kijiji for me too. I gave up on ebay. Too many shiny happy people, and I was sick of Ebay and Paypal taking their cuts.
I'd love to know, too. I still sell some stuff on eBay from time to time but it's definitely lower traffic for the used stuff than it used to be. eBay did their best to make it an avalanche of new stuff at prices comparable to Amazon or worse.
I hate paying the fees - 10% now!! - but at least listing is free.

I buy stuff on Amazon a lot. I've seen buttons for items that say "Have one of these to sell?"
Have you considered looking into amazon? I don't know anything about selling on Amazon, but I love to buy from them! I bet in the last year, I bought something every two weeks.
i can't deal with ebay anymore. it used to be i would search "1940 chevy pickup" and get 120 parts, 119 of which were relevant. now i get 10,000 universal parts that ebay has let the sellers input the fitment of, and they go through and put that it fits every car ever made, so it shows up in every search. i don't need listings for $50 imitation race seats and rolls of carbon fiber print vinyl when i search for parts for a 194x or 195x anything.
i imagine they turned many people off in this manner.
I use craigslist as well. occasionally blasting something through FB.

They sure did me. Try finding seats for a Spitfire or Nissan truck. You get eleventy billion ads for the same cheap ass seat cover.

Well, there aren;t that many Spitfire seats listed right now, but try making this to your search querry: Spitfire seats -cover -mat. Leave no spaces between the minus sign and the keyword you want to eliminate from the search results.
Here's what I got
You can help eliminate most of that crap from your search results by looking under the "condition" heading on the left and clicking the "used" box.
