He's actually a very good driver who competes in vintage racing.
He also has a vast collection of cars...many of them high-priced exotics. Wait, "high-priced exotics"....isn't that redundant? redundant?
He has had the Macca for many years... It is his favorite of all of his cars, and he has put several thousand miles on it!
Current track champion at Top Gear (excluding the F1 drivers of course).
He also races a 64 Falcon.

His lap is the perfect illustration of the "smoother is faster" philosophy. Slow in, fast out, smooth as glass--like he's not even trying and boom--fastest lap.
Dude is a pimp.
The Rolls that they built for his movie was obscene.
Repost for a repost..not that I'm dissing reposts.

I love the part at 4min when he starts to describe how he got Rolls to put the V-16 in his personal car. He sounds like Blackadder again when he describes it! ("..but not any engine..")
Mr. Atkinson's one of us, but with money. He's like the English version of Jay Leno. I'm not gonna slam him..hell, I've put a car off the road on the street as well. And Gamby's right! Look at that lap. So smooth..and yet on the on-board shots he curses every transition-thinking he could have done better.
EDIT: Also, check out the "facial reviews" of cars at 6:20..fantastic.
