Why can't I edit my posts?

I've noticed that some of my forum posts don't let me go back and edit... the "edit" button is greyed out.  I've only noticed this happening in the last month or two, and not consistently.  Anyone know what's going on?

There was a change to the software to stop canoe paddlers from adding links later, you can edit posts for a short time now (2 hours?) and then they lock.

Hey folks! If you frequently post here, you should now have the ability to edit your posts. Give it a try.

Tried editing a post I made a few days ago, the button's still grayed out, I'll come back to this one later and test...

I guess I don't post often enough.   :shrug:

Let me see how this is rolling out. We have a few people out today, so likely won’t have an answer until early next week.

Last post I made in this thread has the edit button grayed out now, so definitely not working yet.

I wonder if it's not retroactive.  None of my posts are editable.  Maybe this one will?

Hey Lenny!  It works.  I can edit it now!

Good feedback - I guess that update didn't work. We'll go back at it and we'll keep you posted.

You appear to be correct. I am not able to edit a post I made earlier today, but just did edit a new post.

Edit: I have now edited this post as well.

Edit #2: 8 hours later and I can still edit this post.

Nope, it will not let me edit my post above.  The time out still seems to be in effect (at least for me).  I think you have an hour or so to edit?

I just went back to a post from early yesterday morning.  Edit button worked, at least for that post.

Maybe I have super powers? 

Or they have implemented this in 2 phases. 1st phase you can edit posts created after initial implementation & 2nd phase made it retroactive to older posts.

It's working now.

Indeed! This should be working now. The gray has been removed from the edit button and it should function as you'd expect it to. Thanks once again for the feedback!
