Look at the ignore thread. It just devolved into... nothing, really, but it keeps on going.

I was quoting a Red vs Blue episode where they talked about the difference in the way act in person vs on the internet. Political discussion was one of the best parts of it.

I work at not hating anyone.

Ah.. the politics of levity is what makes this forum go 'round! Most of us know better to take ourselves too seriously, considering that nobody else will.

Still, it is a way to pass the time and waste bandwidth...

If there's not going to be a hot debate then I might as well drink until I reboot.

Right. Like I wasn't going to do that anyway.

It occurs to me that we need a codeword for when the debate has gotten too heated or tiresome. Much like "canoe", which worked so well for spam posts.

Of course, you can always report objectionable posts, but sometimes people run right up to that line and it's more of a cumulative thing.

Anyway, I think we need a code word. I suggest "flounder"

"Why flounder," you say?

"Why not?" burp

Won't work, you are not allowed to bring a fish reference into a political conversation that will include commercial fishermen, lady VPs and McCain and Obamas voting records...

Ok....well is religion-or lack there of -still good? Seriously, if you get tired of it, just ignore it. What's the big deal? I get tired of reading about miati , but so what? Let those that get their panties in a bunch spout off. It's better that than going postal.

I didn't read the whole thread but the whole two party system blows. Both options for president this year suck. Before you start bashing me, I know there are always third parties but people are so uninformed that it's pretty much a lose-lose situation for anyone running under a 3rd party name.

The red or blue say they may adopt some of the third parties ideas, but we all know that is just please/win the vote of people who would potentially vote for the third party.

I honestly like the way Japan's gov't is, but thats another story for another day.

Yeah, Japan's Diet has a free for all every so often. They may not accomplish anything but it sure makes for good lowbrow TV.

Hey, maybe we should do things that way: Red vs. Blue cage deathmatch! WWF could run and promote it.

If we have 75% of the threads on the current page devolve into political arguments, how does that look for our newer viewers?

You're not going to convince anyone anything over the intraweb when it comes to religion or politics or certainly choice of alcohol.

Not fair, Palin would be allowed to use Cheneys guns on an old white guy.

Anyway, I just wish people would not start NEW threads on the same subject.

Maybe we need a Politics/Religion/Medical Offt topic board.
