How about X) A lot of other things in life going on?
Still haven't sold an old challenge car, waiting on military orders was another big part, and so on.
My dad really really wanted to go but things just didn't pan out this year. Gonna try to go next year but it'll be tough, maybe if we start now.

Yes you would, wouldn't you?
D sort of - got distracted building a vintage racer I don't think I want anymore and took a big income hit this year.
I picked up a crappy entrant 12 days prior to the event just to be sure to be a part of the festivities.
Now back to the S10 for $2012

I plead the fifth.....
Because my wedding date was that weekend...
But we still made it!! Drove to st augustine directly from the challenge, and got married on the beach with greas still under my fingernails.. My wife stuck it out all weekend like a trooper. Her first challenge and she had a blast... she doesent even give a crap about my old crappy bmw's.. bottom line is there is no excuse. If you want it bad enough youll put the extra time in the shop and make it happen!

Still doing penance for all the time, money, etc invested in 2010 to run the Trifecta of Crap.
It feels really weird to have spent an entire year doing almost no real garage work (other than working on the garage itself).

We had a 21 person Hummer for the reharsal dinner, also at a Vineyard. Trish and I didn't want anyone driving so we hired limos/busses for the rehearsal and wedding.
We had the Tequila Mockingbirds for the rehearsal, a local band out of Saratoga. Click a video or two.

I'm still building a car for a challenge.
I'm going to combine it with a week in Disney with the family either before or after the Challenge, too.

You could hang out with me. Swore off the stuff a while back meself.

2009- moved to dc. Around that weekend. Gf (now fiancee) promised if I took the next year off from car stuff, she'd help with the next challenge build. 2010- gf bought home in june. All time/money spent into that. 2011- bought a ring. Helped fiancee train for half ironman in september.
So no space or money. New job helps money situation. trying to figure out a place to actually build the 87 200sx I bought in june. Looking like we'll be getting hitched challenge weekend up here though, so probably a 2013 effort. Not happy about that.
I bought a 300zx turbo for $1250 for a decent daily and possible intentions to challenge it for fun.
I put a cage in it, $1200 worth of enkei RPF1's, a $600 diff, $700 coilovers, etc. I could put a welded diff in, and put the starions it came with back on, buttttt im also poor from going to events locally.
I want to make it next year with something. IDK what though.
Heres the best pic I have of it online...

Rumor about a crazy guy this year at the $2011 Challenge? If I still drank there would be complaints about 2 guys.......although showing my junk is rare....

You and I need to get together on something... I have a terrible idea.

Did you call the people from Guiness to see if it's a record? rented shuttles are the way to go. After my sister's wedding some poor guy had to cart all of us around, and probably burn the bus when he was done.
I didn't make it to the challenge because my neighbors didn't discard enough appliances to build my Duesenberg SJ replica
Sigh... too broke, too busy, too short on talent. One day I will get there, if only to walk around and make a general nuisance of myself.
