Tunawife wanted Edison lights, I made a thread, I bought some, I installed a weatherproof box, wired it through the wire already heading towards the ceiling fan already in the screen room, and it works perfectly.

Except she wants the ability to turn on the fan and turn off the lights. I had not considered this use case.

A remote controlled GFCI? Doesn't seem to be a thing. I need two outlets, and those "remote controlled tiny extension cord" things probably won't fit in my weatherproof box. I can run a second wire from the switch, but that's painful, and I would need one of those double switches.

Any other ideas?

Replace your current box with one that will handle two components and then add a remote controlled switch in it for the lights.

Replace your gfci with one that is half gfci and half switch, and give her a stick to manipulate the switch.

Install a gfci circuit breaker and replace your current gfci with a remote control switch.

Depends on how fancy you want to go.

Just put one of these in as a replacement for a worn out control in one of the ceiling fans at my place. You could use the light control output to control your Edison lights, running that circuit back from the controller in the fan canopy.

Spec is that it doesn't work with LED lamps though.

Let me clarify:

The weatherproof box is a while-in-use box, so we never want to open it. It's fancy, and mounted already, and I need both outlets it has.

The box is maybe 10 feet up, so I can't get to it anyway.
