As an NC resident, I really don't get it.
Then I remember I live in one of the larger cities and remember that most of the state isn't anything like where I live.

Folks, you've got to remember this happened in Asheville.
yeah, Asheville is a near fisticuffs of the "alternative" lifestyle faction and the bible thumpers .... there is NO middle ground .. or at least those of us that would fall in the middle ground aren't able to be heard ... most of us ( left leaning or right leaning ... ) just shut up and go on about our business .. sometimes our vote makes a difference ..... usually not though
