I have an old laptop that doesnt have wifi. Is it easier/better to either put in a mini pci wifi card with internal antenna or one of those usb wifi thumbdrives. Or is there a better/cheaper/better performing option for an old laptop?

The usb wifi sticks work fine and are inexpensive - plug and surf...

what they said... a usb wifi dongle will do the trick... can find refurbed on newegg for about $10 from time to time... picked one up for my bro-in-laws old POS laptop that he was given... worked fine till the computer died

BTW, for an OS, consider Xubuntu - runs OK in 128MB RAM, and I've run it on 400MHz PCs.

In reply to GameboyRMH:

The OP didn't know if XP was newer than Windows 98. Do you really think they should enter the land of sudo? Sounds like bad advice to me.
