I've been wondering more and more about an RX-8 4.8. It really does tick "all my boxes", if you know what I mean.

OK, find someone to fund it and I'll do the RX8 instead. I like the funky rear doors. I am staying clear of your boxes, though.

Car Craft did a GM stock cam shootout and the LS9 cam SCREAMS top end power in a 5.3.

They also did a nice 4.8 vs 5.3 article as well.

I'm thinking of grabbing a LS7 3-bolt cam for my build for git and shiggles . . . Just have to get a cam gear, cam sensor and newer front cover to do it.

yeah, that article is the reason i want to use an LS9 cam- 400ish magazine HP with a smooth, quiet idle and enough vacuum to clean the living room floor... i've found them new in box ranging from $100 up to the MSRP of $167, with Summit/Jegs coming in at about $125, if my memory is correct.

They were probably more concerned with exhaust fumes inside the convention center full of people than they were about the noise.

I'll bet the fire marshals weren't too excited about running vehicles either.

t happen to have an LS3 Hot Cam with about 30 miles on it sitting in a box along with a set of LS3 valve springs. You know, if anyone's interested. Heck, I've also got a 5.3 with LS6 heads and intake with a fairly healthy cam in it, a clutch, Corvette oil pan, F-body oil pan, Corvette headers...you guys know how to find me.
