Ahhaaa, what a nice afternoon. Spent it in the junkyard, stomping through knee deep mud and snow. Found treasures I didn't expect to find, found the things I was looking for. It's been months since I've been in a junkyard, many months. A most wonderful and peaceful afternoon. Almost zen like in its wonderfulness.

I have only been to the junkyard in the snow one time. I don't want to do it again.
After I passed 45, I refuse to do a junkyard in the snow, old makes me stubborn
I need to go and get some Jeep carpet, though every Jeep that I've ever seen in the yard is full of water, so I need to wait for the thaw.

I guess I have another three years to go then. I love U Pull It yards in the winter. It's quiet and the cars aren't as picked over.

+1 for me as well. You find the best stuff in the winter, most yards don't like to scrap cars in the winter, so you sometimes have more then a single day to grab parts off of a given car, enough time to pull switches and wire harnesses.

I LOVE junkyards in the winter. I went into the "Quiet Corner" of CT to buy a manual rack for my Galant. Car-part.com said he had one. Didn't, then bought a power setup. I called a couple of days later for some 1G parts "Can you have your guy pull them for me?" I got there and he said "We didn't put the car back. Take what you want. $75." Glad I had tools.
