I have a few projects that I need to "roll-over" to finish correctly and therefore I'm looking for a rotisserie. Anyone have one sitting around that they're looking to get rid of? I can get a new one for $1400, but would rather find one that someone bought for a project, used it, doesn't have any further need for it and it's just sitting in a corner taking up room.
I'm in northeast PA and willing to drive a few hours for a nice unit.
Thanks.
A buddy of mine mentioned that he was going to sell his rotisserie last week. It was used for the restoration of a 914/6. He is located in Carver Ma. Takes me about 5 hours to get to Scranton from here. Let me know if you want his contact info.
Absolutely. The first thing going on it would be my 914 Outlaw project!
They are out there, just keep searching. I got a new Atlas Rotisserie last month that I found on FB for $1200 with all the accessories. Guy bought it for a project but never used it and got tired of it taking up space in his garage. Put the GT6 on it this weekend, well worth the investment!
If you don't find one I have a book that has plans and a materials list to build one. I have not built one so I don't know how well it works.
I have built one in the past from two HF engine stands for a Triumph Spitfire body shell. Worked well enough as those cars are really light, but would want something more substantial and stable for most of my unit body projects. Have to admit, a proper rotisserie is much more sturdy and really nice if you have the space, definitely a good buy for my shop that will get a lot of use.
