Just like the title says. Looking at dropping a 302 into one of my Pinto wagons. i have the motor but need a trans. I would love to make it a 5 speed but it is already an auto car so I could be persuaded if I found a deal on a automatic. I would like to find As close to Central GA as possible but can travel for a good deal.
I have a C4 in Jacksonville, FL. Don't know it's condition or value but for a GRMer how about $100?
Stay away from the AOD. They are evil. The TV cable alone is reason enough to cross the street to avoid one of these things.

I've never had an issue with AODs but I'd be looking at a C4 for this application just because of the smaller size.
Consider going 4R70W instead of AOD. AOD has some issues that you may not want to deal with, like the TV cable if not going with a modded valvebody, plus it's got all the better upgraded parts you'd want for a performance AOD anyway. In fact, a used 4R70W plus the cost of a stand-alone controller for it would probably be less than an AOD with either a modded valvebody and/or with the upgraded parts.
