I think I got most of the gist into the title...
Just trying to think what's reasonable/safe/ideal for a couple of use cases, and perhasps some I haven't thought of. The main two are:
- I just want to be able to put a few ounces of fuel in a float bowl without putting it also on the intake manifold, distributor, and my left sock. (So probably something not far from a ketchup bottle, but perhaps more specific)
- I want to start and briefly run a carbureted engine without getting involved in the Superfund project that is cleaning out the tank and lines. (So a small tank to hang from the hood with a nipple to connect to carb inlet?)
Or maybe I'm approaching it wrong. What do folks do for these sorts of situations?
I just retired a couple of bicycle water bottles that started imparting their own hyperlocal terroir to my ride drinks and was about to start looking up what kind of plastic they're made out of and figuring out whether that's gasoline-compatible, and then I had brief flashes of dire warnings from high school chemistry posters, and then I thought "Hey, I bet if there's a simple answer, GRM knows what it is!"
