I thought the problem was with crazy Russian energy drinks.

Been doing one of the rival challenges online with the King Cobra. Its a drag challenge that limits you to pre 80's American muscle cars, RWD, and 500hp.
So far i am at 11.7 and in the top 1% of drivers but the top guys are in the mid tens. I have no idea where i am going to make up that second.

They're using that drag package Dodge Dart, yes?

I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters: not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their bullE36 M3. For those ten seconds or less, I'm free.

I think we can all agree with that.
Just played some more. The E36 M3 is almost like cheating. I was in 3rd by turn 1 entry, and in 1st by turn 1 exit. Stayed ahead the whole race and finished 20 seconds ahead. Staggering car.

If this isn't the epitome of GRM readers, I don't know what is. We're so damn cheap, we try not to pay virtual currency on videogame cars!
3.2 million credits in the bank and counting...
I decided to take a break from Forza 4 this weekend, since I didn't really notice how much it'd been running my life the last few days.
I popped into the local Gamestop yesterday to snag a new rechargeable battery for my controller, and the cashier asked how I liked the game. We talked for a few minutes, and he said he'd spent entirely too much time on the game, and he was on level 13. When he asked what level I was at, I didn't even think and said...48.
It was kinda funny, as both guys gave me about the same look of disbelief. Then it sank in that the level wasn't really a mark of skill or anything, just how much time I'd spent playing.
So, I'm cutting myself off until Monday. Why? Because REAL LIFE.

Yup!
I need to get better at the tuning. I pretty much blunder my way throughout it. My biggest problem is that I'm just not consistent enough When I test driving to really notice the differences.
Not really a tuning thing, but switching from simulation to normal steering has improved my driving significantly, though I was really hoping to improve with the sim steering.
Race with the Devs takes place in about five minutes. If the servers don't crash again from the massive amounts of people playing it on a Saturday...
Well, the servers finally got sorted out, so I went online and crushed some rival mode. It is interesting that some of the events we're collectively really good at ( everyone in the club with a time in the top 1%) and then others we're bad at collectively.
I know I collected some scalps off of GRM Tom, N Sperlo and even one or two from racerfink (though on one he only did his standing start lap, so any clean flying lap beat him).
Track day events can be brutally frustrating, especially when you try to keep the lap clean.
In the Rivals mode, the more back and forth you have with people on the leaderboard, the more bonus credits are available. So I'm just trying to eek out a lap a little bit at a time, to maximize the bonus credits available to all of us.
On a few of them where there's at least ten people on my friends and club leaderboard, I can get 150k in bonus credits for beating someone.
