Hey,
I should have requested it here instead of on the Forza 3 thread (I know, I'm a little slow). Is it possible that I can join the GRM team on FM4? I don't post on the forum but I'd like to play some "clean" games against experienced people online. Let me know!
Other way 'round, chummer.
You send the request, then they okay it (or not ).
So far we're at 100% acceptance for the Team GRM club.
Just look for tgrm in the club screen. I created the club, so I must admit I have no idea how it looks from the other end.

Normal is supposed to be more like Forza 3. I use simulation. Rumor is that it does less autocorrecting in simulation mode.
From what I understand in my conversation with the developers (while shouting to hear one another over the ambience of Petit LeMans...) "simulation" steering removes the buffer when countersteering. Most noticeable on the stick controller, probably less noticeable with a wheel.
The steering while countersteering is definately more sensitive on FM4, but its likely that has a lot to do with the re-worked physics.
I could not drift at all at first, so I raced for a few hours, then built a few of my tunes from FM3 and it was driftomatic.
The weight transfer of the cars is more prominent in FM4, suspension tuning and grip has a lot to do with how the car reacts when you transition through opposing turns or are moving quickly through chicanes. Or are intentionally throwing the car into turns sideways.
Have to be smooooth. A well set up car helps too.

I found you need to go less "extreme" with the tuning set-ups. The King Cobra I loaded to the club garage is set up for drift and truthfully, I didn't change much. Ive got quite a few set up for drift as well. One guy had a ton of downloads on a tuning set up that was stock and said it was tuned to drift. It kind of worked lol.

And drop me in the boat of people who have no freakin' clue how people are pulling 10.5s in that car.
I believe it was due to some kind of glitch; they will be wiping the drag boards soon.
I wonder if that same glitch is why I found almost a second going from testing to doing the rivals event.
To clarify some of the Manufacturer Affinity:
Level 1 gets you a 25% discount, level 2- 50%, level 3- 75%, and level 4- 100% off of parts that come from that manufacturer. Wheels and body kits are made from different manufacturers, so you have to pay full price for those. Every level comes with some sort of manufacturer bonus in the form of credits that increases with each level.

Lol, request sent. Crossing my fingers now ;)
I was online already, so you should be in now.
On the "series" A500 isn't right it'd be B500 A would be 600. I've got a gtx waiting for some A600 trans am action. I'll even use my GRM numberboards :D I'll give a B spec a go if someone show me how to build/gifts me a car with the proper setup. I'd be more prone to do it if the fiat 500 is included though. I run the GRM bumper sticker on all the cars I can find a decent place to put it on.
My tag is moparman7669 if anyone wants to find me online sometime.

Yessir, thank you very much :)
Movie night with the wife tonight, I'll be on tomorrow after work to race (and check out the GRM garage). Can't wait!
I just get worried when Turn 10 DOESN'T mention stuff...
Matte paint has been absent from the Forza series since Forza Motorsport 1.
But I hear the Dodge Dart has matte paint as some or all of the factory colors. (I dont have the DLC loaded up yet.)
So basically if you want matte paint on another car, go paint your Dodge Dart a factory matte color and Save it. Go to any other car and that same matte color should be available as a "Recent Color" in the paint pallette. I used that trick all the time on the previous forza games to get unique manufacturer colors on to other cars.
Maybe...you can even use the color fine tune option? If not you can at least overlay vinyls to change the color.
Now someone go test it to make sure I am right.
In reply to failboat:
i believe only some of the dart is matte and I'm not sure if its selectable as a color. Like carbon fiber parts on other cars.
I have seen a few photos where the entire car appears flat primer gray. In any case its worth looking into. I know if you try to paint it a non-factory color its a gloss paint.
Another interesting thing I found when i googled, one of the bmw's has a satin type finish on one of the paintjobs. I think its the newest M3. Might be that special satin color they did recently. I didnt hear about anyone trying to get that applied to a different car though using the "Recent Colors" pallette
I'll get a Dart tonight and let you know.
Yeah, the no matte paint is irritating... I'd REALLY like to be able to do a matte black hood on at least a few of my cars to cut down on the glare.
I think I joiuned the club yesterday so I hope to get online and race some of yall. It almost makes up for not having a car to drive in college. Now to setup a racing wheel for the dorm..

Random observations from playing last night:
-
The XB Falcon is cool as all get-out, by how are the Forza bumpers NOT the Mad Max ones??!?!
-
The game's Miata is just as annoyingly slow as my real one was and makes the same tractor noises.
-
The Aston One-77 is nearly impossible to drive.
-
The Top Gear bowling pin challenges are hilarious, especially if you e-brake into a skid out into the grass, down a ditch, and smack some tires totaling the car.
-
If my real Javelin will look half as good in Torque-Thrusts as the game's Javelin I'm going to have to get them ASAP.
-
If you stick like glue to an AI's bumper for 2 laps he will eventually get scared, make a mistake, and end up in the tires. That was wicked cool to see after being so used to the perfection that is the GT AI.
-
I also watched 2 AI cars take each other out like 2-3 cars in front of me!
Spent not quite 2 mil on the auction house today, and got somewhere around 35 cars. Most notably, a 250 GTO for 1 million even.

I picked up a 330P4 the other day for 192k. I felt pretty good about that.
Yeah, a lot of people took them as a level up prize car thinking they could sell them. Only problem is, a LOT of people had that same idea and flooded the market with them.
