I don't want ABS but different levels of TC would be nice because my car actually has 6 levels of TC. Are you giving the car 550 hp at the wheels or the crank? My car has about 675 at the crank and it feels like it. I also felt like the car was off by 100 hp. I feel like the lateral G's were correct for my car, the 315 wide semi slicks are a good stand in for my tires. When I first put the car in the sim. I just drove it, the TC was already active. I turned it off with a knob on the steering wheel.
I don't understand how you could turn it off if the car does not have it. Maybe cockpit adjustable only and no preset? I have seen cars in the sim set up this way.

I don't know the technical on the traction control but the car has 1 level of it unless I turn it off with the TC knob on my steering wheel. If it's on the car is really, really slow to accelerate. Slower than an Abarth 500. Can you put the skin on the car that looks like my car, too?
The skin that looks like your car is already in the pack, with the visual limitations that skins come with.
I have been working on editing the model to get it closer to your car, but I've hit a snag when the windows turned black and the container shrunk to half its size - meaning that blender somehow didn't link things correctly. That is probably due to some productivity plugins I've added, since before those the windows looked fine, and I haven't touched anything window related anyway.
Will re-install blender and work on it a bit more once I find the time.
Current state with broken window textures:
Remnants of the bumper and lexan support shadows can be removed from the skin itself.
Changes so far:
- Redesigned hood and removed the vents
- Removed the front bumper and started redoing the lower valance
- Started on the splitter
- Turned the window, rear light and mirror trim black, removed the supports for the (lexan?) windows
- Moved the gas cap to your location
- Started redesigning the rear spoiler.
Rev004 is up with 15% more power.
Dean will add TC, and put it up at Rev005, Piguin can update from there when he is done.
I just tried Rev004 at a drag strip, it's about .4 seconds quicker than before, which is good. It gets about 20 km/h higher speed on the long straight at Nurburgring, also very good. I drove it around Gimli, my local road course, and it got exactly the lap time I figured it would get, if I was brave enough to push the real car that hard. Is it possible to adjust the brake force necessary to lock up the tires? I would like it to be easier to lock them up.
I tried my hand at tweaking a couple of the files and now the car is as close to the real thing as I can imagine. The only things that I would still like would be wheels/tires that look more like the real thing and a working, adjustable traction control. The "electronics" file has nothing in it, is this where traction control would be? Is it a matter of cut-and-paste from a car that has traction control or does it need to be programmed? Also, how do I change the name of the car as it appears in the game?
I will tweak whatever the latest version is tonight and put traction control in ABS in if you tweak the car in the settings and saved it then you should be able to just load that back into the revised car if you went in and changed files you're gonna need to zip that car back up and put it back up on the Google Drive

I'm gonna have to go and see if I can get those wheels they were on grab cad. I want to pull that down. I will probably put the file up on the Google Drive as I'm not the one to be modifying the texture files. I think aircooled or pig pigwen are much better than I am at it.
After spending half a day focusing on the wrong thing, I realized that the issue was with KSedit messing up the shaders and not blender as I thought. Oh well.I think I am about done with mesh edits. It is FAR from perfect, there are no wide body mods and it looks like a cheap replica but it at least it is a bit closer to the real thing.
Things to note: Needs skin work badly - Air can probably fix that, remove the shadow remnants and maybe even turn the cage red.
Known issues:
- Wheels are unfortunately still the ones that came with the model. Since it needs more than just the rims, I tried ripping wheels from other Assetto cars, but the only ones that looked close enough were encrypted. If one of you guys can find an unencrypted model with wheels /tires at the right size and look I can change them over.
- Gloss on the hood and splitter is way off. I planned on adding shaders for those but KSedit had different ideas.
I've uploaded the .kn5 file so it can be included in the next revision once the skin is touched up :)
In reply to Piguin :
That splitter looks amazing! I just registered for SpringNationals in Lincoln today and am excited to get some practice before actually driving the car on a Nationals level course. You guys continue to impress.
Don't forget to share some piktsurs :)
With the 'bodykit' done, the wheels were so off it was bugging me. Ripped wheels from a Ferrari 333SP, closest unencrypted I could find, resized them to look a bit closer to your setup and updated the file on the server. Once Air works his magic with the skin and hopefully the wheel/tire textures it should be good to go.
OK, Rev005 is up there with the skin updated. I am not sure where the cage color is. It's maybe not in the skin?
The model mods look great BTW.
So, Dean, mod 005 with the TC if you want, or just put the electronics and setup (if you modded that) files up and I can add them in and re-upload.
Loosecannon can do his mods to that. If that makes it final, make sure to .zip and copy it back up so we can play with it.
In reply to aircooled :
That was quick and looks GOOD. It was hell trying to remodel the front valance with the textures off :(
I don't know how you change the textures, if you use clicking through CM showroom as I've seen in some videos, then you can click on the cage (first click will give you the window mesh/textures, second the cage), and you can do the same for wheels and tires if you feel like fixing the center color and getting rid of the stickers.
Notes for rev6:
If you get the chance, get rid of the shadows from the (long gone) supports around the windscreen and back window, and take a look at the bootlid and spoiler. I moved the gas cap and redid the area around it, but the shadows and highlights of the area are incorporated into the skin. Also, I think the front spoiler and rear bumper should be white.
Teamwork for the win!
Also, I haven't generated LOD's, since I didn't yet know if any more work was needed.
If you want to check out the model differences, change the LOD in CM showroom.
Edit: Seems I can't generate LOD's currently, since I don't have the program CM needs. I did find a Reddit Thread with instructions in case someone wants to add them.
Note: For those wondering why I didn't just make my own file revisions, I have zero experience with packing cars and checking if everything works right. KNedit was a steep learning curve alone and it kinda burned me out.
Out of curiosity, is the windscreen 'dirt' part of the texture package? I noticed while driving this that it has one of the 'dirty' windshields often seen in AC...
Drives pretty well, and it's slightly faster than the GTC cars we're currently racing.
Great job guys!
In reply to Piguin :
I will take another look and see if I can get to the skin for the rollbar. If you really want to get fancy, swap the interior from a stock 60's Camero (if there is one in AC). I don't think Loosecannon is using VR, but that would really pump that. BTW, VR is not ideal for competitive racing (you loose peripheral vision with most, so it's hard to keep track of cars), but it seems like it might be very useful for learning tracks etc since you will need to turn your head more realistically (muscle memory).
I am not sure I would worry much about new LODs for this car (just low res versions of the car model used for when it is in the distance). The changes are small enough, I don't think they will be noticeable at the next level down LOD.
There is a LOD generation feature in Content Manger, but the app needed for it (poly cruncher) is missing, so if you find that, let us know, and we can put in our resources folder.
You'll need to log in to post.
