I don't mind running any of the cars we ran Wednesday.  Ok, maybe not the Daihatsu, or maybe I need to up my car modding game and see about adding some POWER to the Daihatsu :-)

There's no rush on the Mini. The Rev.B version works well for my offline practice.

If you want to run a One Lap series the track list would be:

  1. Nashville Roval
  2. Carolina Motorsports Park
  3. Lanier oval
  4. Barber's Motorsports Park
  5. Hallett
  6. Heartland (Topeka)
  7. Putnam

I think I dropped all of them on the shared drive. They'll need to be tested to ensure they are online friendly. 

There's also an autocross at the start, but the mod to run it has been "deprecated", you can see it here:

I think we can start Brad Tour series at any time, we just need to make sure the tracks are good.  Even if the car is not fully updated, we can always update mid-series.  Everyone needs to drive the same car anyway.  We also do need to figure out what the HC steps will be.

So, if we can test the tracks and do some HC testing next week, that would be ideal.

There is probably no point in doing the ovals, unless we want to swap in another known track just to keep the series a bit longer (7 rather than 5).

I need a track that people know really well. I then set things up with test weights and see how it changes the lap times. Do we also want to do a negative HC to help those in the back of the field?  This would all but level the field after one race but it would be much harder to keep track of.

Pro have you had a chance to mess with the mini?  You were going to make some changes and re pack it separate of the base car. I think you were also going to do something  with capital letters or something . 
 

I will also want a version with a tad more Hp and torque that I am going to want to see about adding a BOP to them to bring them back to the original spec.

Brad questions:  

What is the swaybar situation like on these? 

Can the front be disconnected?  Do you plan on adjusting your setup at all?

 

Do you run with ABS?

There is a new mini that is on the server.  Version 3. Brad if you can try it and see if you can get on the server. Pro corrected some things that we hope fixed that issue. Pro and I had no issues getting in to the server. 
 

Brad can you pass judgment on the tune?  It is locked down with just the basic  things still adjustable. Kind of what we think you would be using at the track on OLOA.  I think Pro really got this to be a really good driving car.
 

We also tested the HC and I think it will be a HC of around 30.  I will most likely go to a sliding scale on the HC where the jump to a level 2 and 3 HC will be lower amounts of weight added.  I am leaning towards doing a 30-20-15-10 scale. If you get to a HC of 4 you and you win again then you just get another 30 added until you stop winning. laugh

So hopefully tomorrow is the last test and tune before the Brad OLOA R53 Mini series.  Looking to make sure the car is usable by everyone and everyone can get in the server.  tomorrow is the last test and tune. 
 

I got a preview of the car last night and it is a really good car.

Are we doing only penalty HC, or do have room to do positive HC?

You could always start everyone at a 2 HC and work from there.  If we do that, maybe out of respect, we let Brad start with no HC.  If he wants he can do the whole series without HC, but as he noted, I don't think the times / techniques will be super useful for actual driving, just the memorization of the track and rhythm.

I don't think the handicap is going to make much difference.  I'm not going to be fast enough to worry about for most of the races.  Like you said, it's about learning the tracks and rhythm.  

Also, the Nashville Roval isn't an Oval... it's kinda like a small Daytona. Roval = Road Course + Oval

At the moment just an additional weight HC. We need to test that as well as people can pick their color car tonight. 
 

The car the Pro has made is really good. I would be apprehensive to do a weight HC across the board on it. However if Brad said it is to fast I could use the BOP setting to tame it a little and use that as the plus HC performance adder.

Air can you look in to livery's?  You could  model brads exact car and there is the obvious Tangerine Torpedo car. If nothing else it would be nice to expand the car color choices. 
 

Edit:  It would not hurt to add GRM logo/banner on the cars (unless our hosts don't want us to) we could do a windshield banner. 
 

Is there a OLOA banner for the cars?  We could run that as well.  Or put the logo you have on the Vids you have made on the front quarter panel. Or a big shield on the hood on a couple cars.  I like the windshield banners. It could be a GRM/OLOA banner.  Or we could just take Monty Python sayings and put them on banners. laugh
 

One other thing I figured out where the car tune files are saved so you can share actual tunes outside of the in game chat.

Actually thinking about the BOP setting that may work well with this car as it acts as a restricter plate hitting the top end much more than the overall performance. On a car like this with a BOP in place you would not have much if any hit pulling out of corners. I bet if you short shifted the car that has a bit of a BOP hit the performance loss would marginal at least until you really started to get in to the BOP range. Probably anything over a 25 percent BOP and there would not be a way to drive around it.  Another interesting thing I learned in the last series was that adding a BOP to the high hp car in small amounts electively gave them a little bit of traction control and in some cases I was faster as I could just hammer the gas coming out of corners with out having any significant wheel spin. The down side to this is if you are getting slip angle out of corners that you are controlling with wheel spin a car that appears to be well balanced will pick up a push when you add BOP and that will become a double performance hit depending on driving style.

This model has no skins attached to it.  It appears to be colored through the 3D model textures and maybe some swatches to color areas of the car (e.g. body, interior).

I can probably export a skin for the car from CM, but I don't know if I can attach one that doesn't normally have one.  I will look to see if CM does that, but no guarantee.
