Tonight should be interesting. I have not practiced at all.
I am getting an upgrade to my Internet service. The Equipment I have is 12 years old and not supported anymore and as such I will most likely be getting a new IP from Verizon. When I happens I will post up the new IP
I expect to be at least as good as I was last week. I plan on blaming my performance on Dean's router / modem causing very specific driver lag.
LOL. Ya, it probably has contributed to some of the things.
The change offer is happening on March 1st.
I will have to re-configure the new router. Here is hoping that it goes to plan. I am just going to take a screenshot of my current settings and then copy them into the new router. It should be as simple as just putting them into the new one.
Oh, another thing I have a nasty cold (no it is not Covid I have been tested) so I will be on for the start of tonight but I may not make the 2nd race. It just depends on how tired I am.
I am not going to as up on the track as last time (that was a rather simple track). I suspect if Sauce is on his game, he will be strong here (he certainly knows the track). Darwin will be the unknown monkey here.
So what is up for this coming week? Since Brad is out we can use it as a test and tune day. We could dabble with LMP cars or maybe my GTE car pack that I made a while back that would need to be performance balanced like we did the last series. I could mess with that tomorrow as it is a snow day for us so I am stuck home.
There is the car pack AIR was talking about. We could mess with the 951 and see if there are other cars from that period that we could mix in. With Pro and Air being the car molding experts we could build our own car pack of Mid to late 80s sports cars that are not Miata's.
So new internet is installed. Bumped up to 1GB service with much greater bandwidth and it is blazingly fast on my end compared to what I had!!! It actually may make a difference for you all when connecting to the servers. BUT for the moment the servers are down. I have to set up the port forwarding in the new router and that will not happen until tonight.
I think the new servers are up again. I put the new IP in Discord General Chat.
Searching for GRM in Kunos did not pull them up but searching for the IP address and they came up immediately.
If people are around and can test the servers that would be great. The connection I use to have was an advertised 50/50 (measured 38/15). The new service I just measured 759/267
This may improve the racing experience for you all a little. ;-)
I am putting the Server IP addresses here as well for a while

So you would think that a new router would make it easier to set this stuff up. Yaaaaaaaa LOL. There are two places on the router where it looks like you can do it but only one works. Instead of having port forwarding as a top menu item, you have to go three levels deep now to get to the correct place.
But we got it sorted.
Thanks, Matt and Air for testing it out!!!
Tonight is run what you brung. Anyone can "bring" a car and we can race it. Just upload it to the "current" Google Drive. Have a cool 90's car let's have at it!!! A racecar you want to try? Fine by me. This is an informal test as Brad is out this week. I may dig up some of the GTE cars. Or we can try some of the LMP cars.
I think you are right we just got off.
Thanks everyone for showing up tonight!!!! The LMP cars are definitely not ready for prime time. Maybe down the road a moded set by Pro and Air could bring them some parity.
The 90's cars car pack is really interesting. I like them !!!! A great balance of performance. They really are the sweet spot of the GT series cars that we raced so much of.
I think they definitely are a series but we still have 20+ cars to test?. We need to start assembling a list of cars/series. Maybe a shared Google doc or something that everyone can add to / look at?
Oh and I forgot. Tonight we had our first actual physical injury while racing. A connecting rod hit a participant during a race. The drivers condition is currently unknown we are awaiting further reports.
Haha! I'm going to live, but I should probably not put heavy things on high shelves. This is what whacked me in the head:

I think there are 32 cars in the pack. My initial idea was to present the list and have people (without testing) pick a favorite and run from there.
The list in big enough to create a number of series. FWD, RWD, 4WD are all possible as well as some make races.

That pack is really good!!! Lots of possible series in there.
