The fact that he could even pass with a 2 higher HC is a minor miracle so no way it will be fast unless you messed up.

Results and standings, adding in drops, which brings things a bit closer.
With 3 races left, this is where a bit of strategy might come into play. Sauce may need to try and shoot for 4th place to loose some HC. 2-4 will certainly close the gap as things go on, but can he hold the margin? There is potential for the HC's to pile up so much that lower points cars start stealing wins, which might be a good thing for Sauce...
I will most likely be out tomorrow but we will see. I got the Covid. It sucks but it could be worse. It is the new variant I guess. No chest or coughing but high fever and a screaming headache. Hell everything hurts. It is very much like the flue. Just no chest and no stomach problems.
And yes I am completely up to date on shots.
I am actually on the road to recovery. I am much better tonight than I was yesterday night. Just have that I was hit by a bus feeling. A really big bus!!!
Well, that sucks. If you feel OK enough to show up but not race, you can potentially choose to start but not finish to get a last place and clear your HC, and of course take the race as a drop.
You know, strategery.

That is probably going to be my plan. I am good for short bursts then I fade. Thankfully I spent some time learning the track so I will at least not go in to the blind if I race.
E36 M3 I accidentally deleted my post instead of quoting myself.
I was going to say, last night Dean was the bus. With some help from Air and Brick.
Hay I tried to miss you. I even hip-checked Air trying to go behind you. I would never "Torpedo" anyone.
I don't know what happened with me last night. When I joined, I did my normal run a few laps "as is" and get a feel for the sim and the track. It also lets me get a read on what the tire temps will do as I run laps. I ran the first 10ish laps with times in 27s-28s, so roughly my normal slow compared to the rest of you.
Then I went tuning. I changes some pressures around and managed to make the car so unstable that I couldn't complete a lap with going off or spinning. So that sucked. I tried again, same thing. Reverse the pressures. Now I have no braking and terminal understeer. Reset to default and try that. Now I'm driving around problems that may or may not exist. Make a last second change grasping for straws and run the first race... terrible. I spin almost every lap on that right > left combo going up the little hill. I quit out of frustration.
Second race, I just ran the default settings. The car would turn in quick and then understeer through corner exit. 99% of it had to be driver, but it wasn't enjoyable to gradually go slower through the night. My fast lap from the second race was like a 31.
Next week is Spring Break here, we are taking the kids on a road trip to Gulfport and then New Orleans, so I'll miss Wednesday night.
Brad, next time I'll post my tune up, it seems to be more stable than what everyone else is running. It's not magic but might be more comfortable for you, just make sure the wheels are straight before you start braking. And dude, if you're having trouble just say something. We all swap tunes, talk about fuel levels, etc., just say what change you're trying to get and we'll point you in the right direction.
As an aside these cars are very sensitive to tire pressure, 1-2psi is enough to change the grip balance so if you tried something like +2psi from baseline and then went to -2psi from baseline that would be a major swing.
@ Brad,
What Matt Said I will always share my tune. I tend to set cars up a little looser than Matt but our setups are usually only a couple of clicks apart.
Oh and this car (maybe your real car does this as well?) seems to not like abrupt inputs. Hard braking hard steering inputs upset it and will send you off track or get you sliding and you lose time.
Like I said, I'm sure 99% was driver. I was fine and stable, then I wasn't even at default settings. I was probably just over tired that night. I've driven Dean's tune on other tracks and it's been fine once I've got the hang of it.
Finally kicked Coved to the curb!!! Going to be practicing tonight some. Looking forward to Wednesday night!!!
Got some practice in last night and I am glad I did. This track is great fun but there are some tricky parts. The turn one combo down the hill across the drag strip is much faster than I realized.
Hope to get a good crowd tonight!
Sounds like Brad is taking his drop. I need to get on early to get some laps. It seems like this one will be easier to memorize then the last one, which I was having issues remembering.
I should be free to save everyone else from last place tonight, but when I try to load the track I get a pop up error that says "topeka_v.04: TRACK NOT FOUND". I tried re-downloading the track and copying it over again and nothing. Is there something weird about this track?
Well, it's a different size but still nothing. I'll give it a turn-it-off-and-back-on-again attempt and see
Great fun last night!!! Thanks to everyone that showed up. I am sure Air has plenty of material to make some great videos.
As a note to all, we did do a skip week to get Sauce and Brad back in the pool for next week. This really seems like a track Brad will want as much practice on as much possible. There are a couple of high speed turns (giant chicanes really) that get rather exciting in the game, hopefully they are not that sketchy in real life!
What did we do? More on that later...
You'll need to log in to post.
