Tonights Testing

Is everyone ready for tonight? 

I just noticed that Pro and I ran the exact same fast lap time in the GT86 with the exception that he had 90Kg   

2:02.0 is super quick, especially with HC, I need to get some practice in before tonight's race.

I am going to need to try and get on early to get some practice.  I know the track pretty well, but need to get more specific practice.

I realized I forgot to post the results (must be the holiday)!  Looks to me like Sauce is ready to spring! 

Drillin.... Drillin is the sneaky one here.... look out for him...

I am only 10 points out.  I am hoping with the change to the RX8 that I can get up near the top of the field and make things interesting!!!  I think Colin is going to take a hit tonight and this will pull Drillin, Sauce and Pro up close to each other.  In my world Air wins the race as he has the same car I do but without a HC so he should be able to run better laps than me.  I Can hopefully be a top-three finisher.  Gameboy is the real spoiler.  I think he ran a 2:02 after last weeks race with just a lap or two of practice.  I could see the top three tonight not being the usual top three with the points leaders mixed in.  This would bring the points much closer making the run to the end of the series really exciting!!!

BTW Air where is Gameboy in the points?  He is not on the list above.  

Air I can pass on to you some things I have learned from my practice with the RX8. 

With me running a 2:02 with the HC and I had a couple of estimated laps in the 2:01's that I screwed up in the 2nd to last corner.

I can see you in the 2:00 and may be a 1:59's

Oh and I think Pro is not going to show.  He may start the races and park it to lose the HC as he has other commitments. We will see.

Oh yeah, Gameboy was "un-personed".    I put him back in.

Whelp. .. . 40 +/- cars downloaded tonight. . . LOL

The new server is up again and I put the set of ATCC TA cars up on it. This is the other set that was part of that really good cars Air found that  we raced a couple season's ago. I drove the Corvette in that series.  That series did require balancing. I also put the car set up on the google drive.

Results and standings.  Pretty damn tight at the top.

I think Drillin and Gameboy have a good shot at the win next week with Pro there as well. The HC on Sauce Colin and me is going to be interesting. I will not be able to match Gameboy or Drillin with the 90kg in the trunk. 

I'm going to be on a bit tonight to do some testing.  Got the shifter and handbrake mounted so probably have to do some tweaking and whatnot - might as well play around with ATCC cars or get some practice laps at Road America

Hopped on this after noon for a short bit and the ACL TA cars are completely different from what we are currently running.  Fun for sure but they can get away from you in a hurry.  Typical late 60's early 70's brakes!!!

I MAY BE on tonight I want to start testing the cars in the ACL TA pack and start seeing how balanced they are.

I also need some track time at this week's track to get ready for Wednesday.  Not sure what I will be doing but if I am on I will be in the discord.

Cool I will most likely be on. The in-laws  are here (a whole bunch of them) and I will be relegated to the bacement as the family room has been converted to sleeping quarters and they'll go to bed early.  

Swapped the New Server over the these cars for testing.  The car pack is on the Goggle drive for those that don't have them. 
 

Ohhhh the Volvo was defaulting to Soft tires, that explains some of the overheating issues I had when goofing around.  I need to reevaluate.

That was some pretty close racing tonight, sometimes too close (sorry Gameboy).

Thunder hill looks great and should be fun.  The place I got it also has some other particularly interesting tracks, including a 1965 version of Sebring

Ozarks International Raceway (looks fun)

A new track they are building at Buttonwillow (local to Colin)

Area 27 (!) which apparently an actual track in Canada (Gameboy?)

Chuckwalla (a track way out in the desert of CA)

I am sure there are more also.
 

Drillin will need to pick a track layout for next week. 

Ozarks looks fun, also I hear it's not the safest-looking track IRL, so, ideal for a sim race

Area 27 is further from me than most tracks in the US, also the kind of place that loves to describe itself as "exclusive"...
