Discussion question:
I have the "Destroyer's Chest Piece" which grants 15% damage reduction from humans. Is that only for bullets that hit the chest?

Hugo's Hole. It is almost the far north east corner of the map. Google for specific location.
Just hit level 45. Been playing with power armor a little bit now. Have 5 suits in various states of repair stashed in the Castle. I like playing without power armor, but with it on I laugh at Deathclaws. My experience with companions has been interesting. I've been killed more than once because of their stupidity.
@NCjay. I ended up ditching companions entirely and investing heavily in the Lone Wanderer perk

Ended up popping a radx and just sprinting across the Glowing Sea until I discovered a location I could fast travel to. Grabbed my power armor, fast traveled, and took it from there. It was a surprisingly short quest.

I just had that exact same thing happen last night.....just as I asked a friend if dogmeat could trigger it, except I didn't die somehow.
In reply to calteg: But on a positive note, you can make us laugh when you make videos of them killing you.
Also, in certain times, you have to command them to stay still while you do some tactical maneuvers.
I want to guess at 50 hours in, level 31. I have Piper running around in the T-51 that I upped to D spec (In the Hot Pink paint job) while I use the T-60D I have.
I had to send Dogmeat back to Sanctuary, to many times trying to be tactical during a firefight and out maneuver a grenade... only to get stuck on Dogmeat standing in the doorway.
I found Dogmeat to be fairly useless much of the time. Codsworth was good about 30% of the time. The rest of the time was spent being in the way and blocking my line of sight. Cait was pretty decent, but she had the habit of taking on a room full of Super Mutants by herself and getting me killed in the process.
I'm still early in the game, but Strong seems to not be the best since he basks in his own strength, and is a slow, power character. I like Piper and Dogmeat better.

Wait, you can get companions to use power armor?
Also, I took a selfie with a Deathclaw last night.....lol
I'm 40 hours in, about to hit level 35.
A silenced .45 rifle is currently my go-to for sneaky head shots. For a while I didn't want to accept the huge decrease in range that the silencer brings. But then I played with it and realized you can head shot enemies as they're standing right next to their buddy without anyone noticing.
In reply to calteg:
Oh, they notice......they're just confused with where the shot came from.
The targeting scanner is epic btw, everything living glows red at long range.
I also have a x-01 mark VI now.....I can punch deathclaws to death.
I found out (too late) that finding a weapon (or armor) that has a mod you might want on it but otherwise sucks is a good thing, because you can set that weapon back to base form and wind up with the mod in your inventory. From there, you can apply it to another weapon, even if you don't have the skill to make that mod in the first place.
I've also started to try to reinforce the settlements a bit with walls and equip the settlers with cast off weapons and armor. Most of the stuff I build looks like crap, but it seems to be working. I learned (too late) that using a floor will allow you to build walls over water, and that not all walls have the same resource cost, even if they are the same size.
I ran into a roaving tweaker merchant before I left town who has some amusing dialogue. "Every gun you buy, I'll plant a tree and blow it up in your honor!" or some such thing.
Chameleon armor is game breaking, especially if you're playing as a sniper.
I still don't get the point of building up fortifications around your settlement. Every time the raiders attack, they're already inside blasting settlers. Walls aren't the answer, automated turrents are the answer.
I've been conscientiously avoiding the last quest to prolong the game. I thought the game felt pretty short, then I checked my playtime...I'm well over 40 hours
In reply to calteg:
You may be correct about the walls, but I've noticed where my turrets have cut raiders to pieces before they could get into the walls. I am not sure if that was a wandering band or a set attack/defend scenario, though.

That's Cricket, it's funny as all get out.
I discovered that Sanctuary has a 4 or 5 story height cap last night while building a new power armor storage tower.....I ran out of fiberglass to finish the place, but I have hookups for 19 power armors currently. I have also been collecting the paint schemes for them. Atom Cat Flames, Hot Rod Flames, & Hot Rod Shark have been procured this far. I'll get the Hot Rod Pink tonight as I know where it is. LoL
The two best schemes however are the Atom Cats & Shark however.
In reply to WOW Really Paul?
Yea, if you select command, then direct them toward power armor you can instruct them to use it. Also they don't need a fusion core for theirs.
I have over 40 hours in and haven't touched the main campaign since springing Valentine a while back. Still haven't taken the Castle either. No idea whats going on and I love it. I am also only level 25 but I have been messing around with other E36 M3 more than completing quests.
