That is perfect. The red mirrors are a great touch LOL.
I made some fixes to the wagon and posted it in the season 17 cars folder (with UGRM appended to the filename), I adjusted the RPM settings to make the gauges match the tach more closely (the engine also had a 600rpm higher limiter than a stock blacktop, but that was left as-is) and corrected the gas tank location, which made the steering feel a little different.

Hopefully it hasn't made it even lighter... Most people's issues seem to have to do with the steering in the wagon.
I just think it has no brakes.
@ Air,
Pro and I messed wound with some ideas regarding the HC and I think we came up with a good way to apply it. We will change the multiplier based on your place in the standings. It should be a simple adding 2 columns next to the adjusted points. The first being the multiplier and the 2nd being the HC. I put an example in to the spreadsheet on the google drive. We can discuss later or via phone.
I have not update the car on the server. I will se about this later.
Everyone should download the new modded car from GB. I test drove it and it is not really different that I can see.
Figured I would put this here, for future use. This is the new GTC pack. Some pretty good stuff in here. Kind of seems like there are some higher HP and lower H cars in the mix.

I think the first order of business may be to sort them by power to weight and see how they line up.
Once I do that I can then start to group them and test them. PW is not the only metric as tires and handling are a big part of it but it is a start.
But dang are there some cool cars in there!!!

I forget what series it was but by mid season 2/3 of the field were all driving the same car (a 911) because it was better. I try and make that not happen. Might as well just do single race series at that point.
I have always thought that I should take the same chassis and body swap several different cars on to it. Change the engine sound to kind of make things different and we go racing. That way we can all fly the flag of the mar-key we like and no one has an advantage. Basically a silhouette series.
I may give this a try with a group of RWD cars and see what I end up with. Maybe start with the RX7 I have that I moded and use that as the base car. Then apply it to a mustang, Camaro, skyline, ae86. And a couple others and see what we get. Oh I know get a list of peoples street cars and put this together.
In the editor at the end I move the wheels around to match there position to the body does that change the handeling or is that purely a graphics edit?
Here is the HP / wt breakdown. As you can see, clearly looks like two groups, but pretty close within them. I put the excel file with this info at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/109Wmc9sU_rQ6CvHnaZewg30exknHoalo/edit?usp=drive_link&ouid=111341880073282412548&rtpof=true&sd=true
I added in the Griffith and upload the car pack the the testing / cars folder (it's pretty huge): https://drive.google.com/file/d/150Zncyn3KFAK3wns87JgHBGtZEan8lfI/view?usp=drive_link

Try Dijon-Prenois. I remember in S2U I would race an R35 in my modded Exige and we had very close lap times, even though we only saw each other around the start/finish line when the R35 caught up!
I did do a quick test with the cars. You can setup a race that uses only cars from a series and let them race themselves (you either drive off the course at the start, or just sit there). It SEEMS like the cars are pretty close. The Corvettes and Cobras seem like they might have an edge (likely dependent on course) but otherwise the cars seem pretty close. E.g. the Elan will keep up with the Corvettes at the launch, but does loose them in the straights, they are not that much slower.
Of course, the AI is not that good in AC and seems to have some issues passing (even with the aggression set way up), so I may just be seeing the parade affect (also know as F1 racing...). I will try with a smaller twistier course, which will likely be needed for parady.
I did try the Dijon-Prenois track. There is a good version out there (even a slightly vintage one). Pretty simple track that is slightly reminiscent of Bridgehampton in layout, but much wider and much less sand!
BTW, I think the open top Cobra has a sound issue (as in none), so I may need to do a sound swap with the other Cobra (which sounds fine).
How long of a race are you doing? I wonder if you could setup a series for the AI to do?
At least on a given track it probably makes sense to turn off fuel and tirewear and run a looong race so the passing issue/starting order gets lost in the noise.
It would be great to let it run hotlaps with 1 car at a time and get averages.
In reply to TravisTheHuman :
I was just running a three lap race to see if there were any obvious ringers. The Vette's seemed to run up front, but even running just Vettes and Elans, the Elans seemed to catch them in the corners, but did not pass, which might just be the AI. Dijon has a very long front straight, like Bridgehampton, so probably not an idea track. Though of note, the top speed of the Elan, was, maybe 10 mph slower, so not that huge and, at least with the AI, jumped off the line quicker! (likely because of tire spin on the Vettes).
Yeah, I think running the cars one at a time is likely the most accurate way to rate the cars. At least the driving will be super constant, even if not ideal. If I could figure out how to space them out (maybe required pit stops?) and run a long race I could look at the best laps for each.
The one thing that this sort of testing will likely miss is the difficulty in driving each. I think AI will tend to under drive a more challenging car (e.g the Cobra seems to be a bit challenging...). While a human driver, with some practice, might perform much better.
BTW - I know there have been many request for more Dean VO's (!). For this series, we could have Dean focus on a different car for each race... learning.. it's a thing.
I will be at home tonight and try and get the VO's done and I would like to play with these cars some.
All over the map from easy light weight momentum car to crazy spin the tires in 3rd gear through the esses.
The second server is up at the moment so others can test. It is less about your times compared to others as it is about comparing your times across different cars. The faster cars are obviously the bigger bore cars but they all drive very differently. I have a couple cars that I really like. I can drive them well but they are very differently. The small bore cars I don't drive as well so o am sure others will beet my times but I was very consistent with most of them.
What all this means is we have some really great options for various series using this car pack.
Big bore
Small bore
Simgle make
And probibly the most interesting idea Air came up with is we seperate the cars in to three groups and then invert them against the points order. So the top people in the points can choose from any of the bottom third of the cars and the people in the back get to choose from the top third of the cars. The middle gets the middle cars. No HC per say and it would have people driving different cars through the course of a series. Maybe some sort of no repeat rule until you have driven all the cars in a given class. This would have to be self policed but I think it would be fun.
