As an aside, to quench my thirst for video game violence this weekend, I went and rented Saints Row 4.
I'm so glad SR has found its niche, and isn't really considered a GTA clone anymore. Within the first 30 minutes of playing, I had already had several big laughs at the game, and participated in some fairly crazy activites.
To keep my budget intact, I'm probably going to wait until this is released as a GOTY edition before purchase, although I might splurge if this becomes a 20 dollar or less deal around Cyber Monday.

Wow, I've never seen a preorder line like that before. Long haul truckers, cops, prison guards, and a disturbing amount of folks with elementary school aged children in tow, were all among the fans lined up to grab their copy of the game.
Naturally, I get home, download my DLC, drop in the disc and start to take care of everything I to enhance my gaming experience, counting on a longish load time.
As I type this, the game isn't even a third of the way installed. Thanks Sony Loadstation! 
Alright, looks like the initial install takes about 15 minutes, so you guys have plenty of time to use the facilities, grab a snack, say goodbye to the wife and kids and call out sick from work for the rest of the week.

It's supposed to be here by 6pm today but the GF has today, tomorrow and Thursday off. She just rolled her eyes when I expressed child-like exuberance of running people over and starting a war with the cops. It looks like no GTA for me until she goes back to work on Friday

Oh, I haven't seen any footage; is it worth the hype? I'll probably walk into a store and buy it without waiting in line or pre-ordering. Just like all the other dozen or so games I've purchased the first day of release.
