Now that I'm not commuting too and from the office, I have a little more time to waste playing videogames.
More recently, I've been playing a lot Forza Horizon 4 because I can't really afford a project car at the moment.
Despite that, the point I'm trying to make is that there is always at least a few branded car packs that you can get for a little extra money. Regardless how you feel about DLCs, I was wondering if Grassroots Motorsports ever had the opportunity to make a car pack for a game like Forza, what should go in it?
I've had the idea bouncing around in my head for a few days, but I'd be interested in hearing what you think.
LOL, love this idea. Are you thinking of a single make/model for each type of car (roadster, sports car, sedan, wagon, etc) or just the most popular cars on the board?

A single Mazda Miata.
Miata is the most obvious roadster choice, but lately there's been an epidemic of 986 Boxsters. It truly is the Grassroots Porsche lately.
Seriously if such a thing were to exist, I would want to see challenge cars- Datsaniti, the suction fan C4, a Hong creation of some sort, the Nelson Studebaker and probably another one of their glorious monsters... how many cars are typically included? This could go on for a while.

It has been a bit since I've played Horizon 4, but I'll go ahead and assume that none of these have been added in the interim:
- '79-93 Saab 900: There are quite a few owners of these on the forums, though not all of us have our own threads. I currently have 4 and am definitely biased.
- XJ Cherokee: I don't like driving these personally, but a lot of members do. It has been proven that they can be lowered and made to handle, or lifted and hammered offroad. Perfect for Horizon.
- GMT400 Pickup or Suburban: Much the same reasoning as the XJ. Low and handle-y, or tall and offroad-y. Do it all in an open world game.
- Miatas are obvious, but they're already in the game. Maybe we could model a special one like Keith's Targa Miata or the hardtop NA concept car?
I'm not sure where else to go with this, but its a start.
The top Challenge autocross car and the top drag car. Thats 2, then the 2 badest ass readers ride. Voted on by us, and the top GRM build as voted on by staff.
My vote is for the BWM powered hotrod, the poster's name eludes me atm.
I'm really loving your ideas. I didn't consider any challenge cars, which would be a lot of fun to drive in the virtual world.
As far as what I had in mind, I was really just trying to think of some of the more iconic project cars we've had, or just unusual cars that, for one reason or another, you most associate with Grassroots Motorsports.
Bi-Turbo? The Italian one not the German one.
Well, there would need to be at least one wagon and one van right?

Lotus Europa. You can have it in your garage, but you can never drive it. Eventually you must give it to another player for free after a certain amount of time.
Miata: Betty (FM NC V8) and a NA turbo

The 37th-place car from last year's challenge (1997 Ford Probe)
There needs to be a be a R63 AMG in there somewhere.
You could just limit it to a miata, a P71, and an E30 and call it done.
Although, if you added the berzerkley and make it roll any time you touch the gas and turn at the same time...

I feel like we are forgetting the sucker Corvette and the dual engine Escort.
If we include a Europa, it can't be running, you just get to look at it in your garage.

The V12 Ferrari swap is what got me interested in this place.
Other than that, there would have to be something that has a LSx swap in it.
Track Cars?
Right now it would include the GRM Z06, a 350Z with a v8 swap, a Lemons VW Fox, a track-ready Miata, an FR-S, a Civic Si, an M3 and a 318is. That's a hell of a pack!
How about the old berckly the zine did year ago for something truly weird. Nelson's 9 sec z car.
V8Kid's Studebaker should probably be in there. Possibly the Traccord.

If it's Challenge cars, then I nominate the plywood Porsche.
Even the pros couldn't drive that beast. I'd want a shot at it in the virtual world.
