Dumpster bike is a 83 GS650 that belonged to forum member ZOO's dad. After he crashed it the bike ended up with a friend who owns a powdercoating business and planned to use it as a demo for his work.
Well nearly 2 years later the bike sat in pieces in his garage. He got it running but that was about it. He mentioned to me he was gonna take it to the local dump and get some scrap steel money.
So I got it.... and re-assembled it as cheaply as possibly. I don't have a ton of pics of the build (took a month). The tank was dented to hell, side panels broken and the seat just looked too 80's. I had the cafe seat lying around, some chunks of CF, salvaged the tach, painted it with bedliner... etc.. Lets get to the pics.
Made a dash of out a chunk of CF. The factory dash was badly beaten and only the tach remained.
Bike runs awesome. Had to put new bushings in the shaft drive which has been the most expensive part ($80 for the bushings) The rest is crap just sitting around. Going to put some good EBC pads on it and a real muffler. Right now she's a straight pipe and a bit loud. Also ordered a "streetfighter" front headlight (not a mask an actual light) and some Projectors from an acura TL off ebay ($50) going to put proper HIDs on it. In addition I ditched the key and hid a start button and kill switch.
Tank badges are punisher belt buckles from a mall kiosk.
