Can somebody tell me the differences between the DT250, MX250, and YZ250 from around the '74 to '76 era?

Of course I am aware that the DT is the enduro and the YZ went to monoshock in '75.

I have a line on a cheap DT and want to rebuild it as either an MX or YZ for vintage mx.

Thanks!

DT vs MX is more then just cyl porting the gear box ratios changed some too but not alot. alot of guys like the DT bottom end and MX cyl. If you want to do motocross go YZ trust me...i raced my mx175 at Southwick and was put in with the 250's had fun yes but no compation for 250's

All the following are 1974 models. Yamaha built all 3 at the same time.

DT= dualsport.

MX= stripped DT (basically).

YZ= purpose built MX bike.
