Looking for short turn signals with regular 12v 21w bulbs. Even mini incandescent signals won't make the bunker blink. Resistors did not help. The project is my 71 Suzuki T250. Normal 21w bulbs work fine. Just looking for shorter signals.

Is your blinker one of the old electromechanical ones? If the lights just come on steady but don't blink then there is already too much resistance. You need more current flow to generate enough heat in the blinker for it to open the circuit, so adding resistors will only make it worse.

Thta is what I thought, but when I run OEM 21W or my big aftermarket lights, it blinks fine. When I run the small lights, just stays on. Not enough draw to make the OEM flasher flash. I tried running a flasher designed for LEDs. All it does is click fast and I get no lights. I just want short stalks and 21W bulbs.

You need higher wattage bulbs in your small lights. If they too are 21W bulbs then it should work.

You could just stick another bulb on the flasher line to up the load and stick it somewhere out of the way.

In reply to Kenny_McCormic:

Yeah, I thought of that. That is an option. As far as I know, there are not 21W bulbs available for the mini lights. all of them are 5W or 10W.
